The Jets and other "Final 8" teams will be free to sign UFA's with no restriction after July 22, which is the deadline the NFL has set.
This news was confirmed by NY Post's Bart Hubbuch, who recently tweeted this:
The #NFL confirmed to me that the "Final Eight" signing restrictions on the #Jets and the other seven teams will void on July 22.
Am I the only one holding out hope that Darren Sharper will hold out? We then get him on the phone come July 23 at the stroke of midnight! Please Mike T??
