Jersey Numbers for Rookies Announced

Jets Mini-camp is to commence tomorrow for the rookies.

Today, Manish Mehta reported about which number each rookie would be sporting on their jersey via Twitter  (here):

Wilson
: #20

Ducasse: #62

Conner: #38

McKnight: #25

Mehta also notes that McKnight will sport the same number that Reggie Bush currently wears.

Added pressure?

There’s gotta be some added pressure on Wilson for wearing TJ’s old number. It won’t be warranted, but its gotta be there. People see the number and see him filling the shoes of the fan favorite TJ…

Pressure?

listen TJ had a few nice years here, but he wasn’t Curtis Martin, and they don’t play the same position.

Gotta agree with the Judge on that.

Wilson isn't even a running back

if he was, ok, maybe there’s some added pressure, but he is not…there is no pressure on him because of a number not related to him in any way shape or form.

I agree with the Judge, it was actually sad to see JT break some of Curtis’s records, no one was really supposed to do that, but there is no way JT was a better back.

Twenty-five is a great number for running backs.

It’ll certainly be a challenge containing your two youngster RBs for the next several years.

The Dolphins are back! We've got a new team, we're Super Bowl bound, and they can't touch us!

All good numbers. Kinda wish McKnight didnt get 25 though; its just going to perpetuate the Bush comparisons.

I’m expecting Taylor to take 56, which will be funny.

by Judgegavel on Apr 29, 2010 7:32 PM EDT reply actions

Haha. That would be pretty funny. Jints fans would lose their minds.

Which would only help the healing process

# one

That;‘s the number he should take, because that’s the number of year(s) he’ll be a Jet!

Does anyone really think he’ll be that big of a factor?

Was Wilson number 20 in college?

by Ryan Alfieri on Apr 29, 2010 9:41 PM EDT reply actions

At least McKnight wasn’t smart enough to wear number 29.

by Ryan Alfieri on Apr 29, 2010 9:42 PM EDT reply actions

#25

I’m so glad someone else is wearing that number!

Now for the title of OC:

25

Pretty cold to give Mcknight 25. I guess this is the kind of Parcels thing Rex might find interesting. Pushing his face in it and see how strong he is. Because Bush has been a bit of a bust, the Jets are pretty much daring him to be a better pro (which is far beyond what I thought they would hope). Maybe its boom or bust with him. Curious strategy.
