Leon on the Trade
"They told me there are no guarantees in this business, and they told me the phone could possibly ring and there could be a possibility," he said. "I didn't expect it, but I knew it was a possibility ... It was a great opportunity for me to get a chance in scenery. This is a brand new start for me. I'm just excited about getting out there and contributing to the team."
Leon always struck me as a very classy guy. It is too bad things didn't work out better in New York. In retrospect, this probably was coming once the two sides failed to reach an agreement before last season. It is probably best for both parties to have a fresh start. Best of luck to him.

You said it didn’t work out for him in NY, but it did. He had a good career for the Jets before breaking his leg, and I wish him nothing but the best. If he’s mad at anyone it should be his agent for not taking a fair deal, holding out for the last penny, and winding up crapping out when Leon got hurt.
Dumped Edgar Renteria and adopted Buster Posey. Biggest upgrade since George Jefferson moved up to a deluxe apartment on the east side!
+1
I feel like his agent really soured the deal for both the Jets and him. So now he’s going to Seattle, where he will have Julius Jones and Forsett ahead of him and will have to compete with whoever was drafted. Assuming he was physically ready to play well, he would have gotten more touches if he’d stayed here. Too much business thinking…

Julius Jones won't be ahead of anybody, except on the waiver wire
JJ is going to be cut for sure, given that Seattle now has Justin Forsett, LenDale White, and Leon Washington ahead of him.
When I wrote this I wasn't aware of all of Seattle's moves
And some of them hadn’t taken place yet

Im heartbroke over trade of leon washington. The man was a class act off the field and major force on the field. Although i understand the contract issues, its regretable that the jets chose to trade as opposed to renew. That said i believe all the other moves the organization made will workout. As an avid JETS fan we have alot to look foward to, and i hope mr. washington enjoys the same success in seattle.
