Round 2&3 NFL Draft Chat
Talk below about all the action tonight. Expecting there to be a little Jets movement in the form of trades etc, you know Mike can't sit still for too long.
Lot of good players on the board, who's going to make the Denver pick of round 2 that has everyone scratching their heads.
Well it's just about to get going.

While I can’t see us trying to add another second rounder at this point I really want this team to get in the 3rd round somehow.

Mcluster is a great pickup for KC.
He’s a game breaker. The Senior bowl coverage they were showing of him on NFL network was amazing.

A run of QBs would be so great to have some players fall. Kindle or a good NT is going to Miami which STINKS!
Im loosing it on Kindle. People are saying he needs mirco surgery on his knee
Preety serious stuff considering he’s so young. It’s the same surgery Curtis Martin had at the end of his career. I bet he keeps falling.

WHERE'S EVERYBODY!
Also I just realized that this thread is supposed to be the chat. I guess no liveblog thingy this time eh? lol
Pats need a TE really bad.
Alge Crumpler is not the guy.

3 things you can count on from Pats' drafts every year:
- Trading back
- Get a TE
- Get a QB
We’re 2/3 so far.
Mays finally gets picked!
I think this is a pretty good place for him to go, actually!
Man, out of all the places Clausen had a sliver of a chance of going to, Carolina was the last of them. I thought Matt Moore did good last year and all indications were that they thought he could be the guy. Still, I can’t fault them for the pick. At this point he was probably BPA for them.
I will blindly predict that Moore starts the year does good, and they’ll ship him out for draft picks in 2011.
WTF Gerhart + Peterson
friggin they’re gonna move him to FB
so lame SO SO lame
LOL of course Chucky gonna compare him to Alstott
aka most overrated player of possibly all time
Worilds was a shock to most Steelers fans
No one had been following him still he seems to be decent. A couple of years on special teams and learning the defense and he may get a chance to start after that if Harrison retires.
How do I break it to the cat that since he has been declawed, the rabbit he sees in our backyard would kick his sorry butt?

I think Golden Tate would be the smartest pick, future wise. You know, just in case we can’t re-sign all these former first round receivers next offseason…
yeah but i don’t think he is a true #1 WR

I trust Rex to coach anyone up
so I don’t really care anymore. I just want to see who they pick
Griffen?
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is
DuCasse! good OT
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

olinemen and CB’s
I like it

Rob Gronkowski is going to cause some problems, he has a ton of upside.

Got to imagine something is in the works, doing my best to do the rounds and try and find out if anyone has heard anything.
Vlad is a very solid pick though, still a little raw, but I think the guy is going to be pretty special in the future. We needed some depth on the line. Really wanted Sapp or Wootten but can live with Vlad

Wonder of the rest of league is freezing out Trader Mike now.
We’re just too loaded so noone will cooperate with us now.
One of my favorite little insignificant things about football:
Player portraits in which the guys have big ass Kool-Aid smiles
See: Damian Williams, WR, USC
I really wish we had a 3rd round pick this year
Griffen, Sapp, Wooten, Hernandez are all still available.
I think Shipley may be there for our next pick.

Love him. But what are we going to do with him if we get him? I think if we get him, we’re basically telling one of our other guys theyre out.
Might be a good strategy actually, now that I think about it.
Guys that are destined to fall, as we have learned from this draft:
- QBs under 6’2"
- White WRs
I never heard of 75% of these guys being taken.
Goes to show you how silly all these pre-draft mocks are.
But they still don’t have a qb who can throw downfield. Their start last year was a total fluke. These guys are at least two or three years away from relevance, maybe more. I think the Raiders will finish with a better record than them.

...the Pats just traded their pick...
………………………………………they seriously are trying to get at least 20 guys
Falcons might like Leon. They have no small 3rd down type backs. Maybe they’ll be in play for Trader Mike.
Bruce Campbell is still there.

They did pick a lot of guys today, though.
They’ll probably trade the Raiders pick from next year for like two 2nd rounders and repeat this draft.
Guess the Pats realized they were in rebuilding mode ahead of the rest of us…

- Round 4, Pick 7 (105) (From Browns)
- Round 4, Pick 23 (121)
- Round 4, Pick 24 (122) (From Packers)
- Round 4, Pick 27 (125) (From Cowboys)
- Round 5, Pick 3 (134) (From Buccanneers through Browns)
- Round 5, Pick 15 (146) (From Broncos through Lions and Browns)
- Round 6, Pick 31 (200) (From Colts)
- Round 7, Pick 36 (243) (Compensatory selection)
- Round 7, Pick 37 (244) (Compensatory selection)

Laugh all you want, but look at their draft so far
Brandon Graham, Nate Allen, Daniel Te’o-Nesheim. If I had to pick a winner so far it’s a toss-up between them and San Fran from my perspective.
audsfhsaof
I forgot they stole Worilds. grrrrr
heh
Worilds and Sanders are unknown to most Steelers fans. Many are busy looking up their video clips now. More than one wondered if we choose well. All I know is it didn’t seem to take any time at all for them to make their decisions so they seem to be getting the guys they wanted where they wanted them.
I expect both to spend a lot of time on special teams. Sanders may get in occasionally as a 3rd or 4th receiver. Worilds will probably need two years to learn the defence.

I'm not laughing at the Iggles, they got some nice players so far
and I understand the trading up perspective, I just dislike trading down so much to pick all these players that you can’t fit on your roster, like what the Pats did.

Niners and Ravens have done well so far.
by SioneBAAOOOHA on Apr 23, 2010 10:19 PM EDT up reply actions
It definitely allows you to pick and choose the best players to keep for depth, and gives you some guys to sign off the practice squad at the very least in times of need. And as a team that is in a mini-rebuilding stage, tons of picks can definitely help. Plus, they can trade up to the top spot of the 4th pick to get their guy very easily.
Leon and Kellen should be able to net us a couple of 4th rounders and 5th rounders, right?
Maybe if we trade Leon and our 4th rounder we can get their top two 4th round picks…? Kellen Clemens could get us a 5th or 6th rounder maybe? I have no idea
