I know it would be smart to trade back, but I really want to see us pick tonight.

NFP just posted that the Jets REALLY want to trade out of the first round

Damn. Well if we do move I hope its to the top 5 of the 2nd, if not bottom of the first.

by Crackback on Apr 22, 2010 6:18 PM EDT up reply actions

I really don't think we will pick at 29...

we either move up for someone like Iupati, Earl Thomas, or maybe even Wilson or Haden. Or they move down to get the extra pick, so much talk about teams wanting to move to the late first to get McCoy or Tebow, if we are going OLB, DE, or CB other than the top 2 the quality isn’t going to be that different between 29 and say 38 or 41.

by Judgegavel on Apr 22, 2010 6:19 PM EDT up reply actions

I really don’t like the idea of taking a corner with the first pick. All he would do is play nickel. I’d rather go DL/OLB with that pick. If we’re going to trade up for an OL, trade up for Ducasse in the 2nd.

by Crackback on Apr 22, 2010 6:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Disagree, nickel is such an important position in defenses today...

and it was where we were most burned last year. Not to mention its huge insurance if Cromartie is really not the player we thought he was three years ago.

by Judgegavel on Apr 22, 2010 6:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Disagree. If we have a better pass rusher, what happened last year is much less like ly to happen bc the QB will have less time to throw and more guys will be back in coverage.

TASTES GREAT… LESS FILLING

by Crackback on Apr 22, 2010 6:31 PM EDT up reply actions

well they may pick a corner as a possible replacement for Cromartie next year

by chrebetsthebet on Apr 22, 2010 6:34 PM EDT up reply actions

I think its a combination of both. Lowery and Coleman were burned too many times, Peyton picked them apart even with a decent pass rush. Then you have a player like Welker (yes he might not be back) but Brady hits him in like two second, even the best pass rush has little effect on it, you need some one to cover.

by Judgegavel on Apr 22, 2010 6:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Plus the thinking is they have already addressed pass rush by signing Taylor, and even more importantly moving Gholston to DE (jk)

Opened it up early, still starting at 6:30, but can submit stuff before that

I’m pretty sure the Jets won’t be picking for offense. The team has no pressing needs, and the draft is deep. I think it’s unlikely that they’ll trade up. Trading down to later rounds is more probable.

Id like to see them take a RB at some point in rounds 4-7. I don’t trust any of the 3 we have to hold up.

by Crackback on Apr 22, 2010 6:34 PM EDT up reply actions

The O-line has no depth, and Faneca’s pass blocking skills have fallen out the window. I think Iupati is the Jets #1 target in this draft (to a point).

by Judgegavel on Apr 22, 2010 6:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I’ll be shocked if that happens.

You have seen all the reports saying we are dealing Faneca.

I’ve also read reports that Rex denies it. I’m not ruling it out entirely, but I just would be very surprised.

LETS GO ALREADYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t want to trade down, I want Hughes, unless we get VERY early 2nd round to get Hughes, but I don’t trust that the saints won’t take him. I agree with RB in 4-7, and safety

by Revis24 on Apr 22, 2010 6:39 PM EDT reply actions

I kind of want mccourtey

by Ryan243 on Apr 22, 2010 6:42 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Im good with Hughes or McCourtey, I think we should see who falls to us. Rex Ryan is gonna talk to NFL Network when they come back from commercial

does the draft start tomorrow?

by John Hart on Apr 22, 2010 9:07 PM EDT reply actions

We are going to get a real nice player at 29.

Baltimore going to have sick receivers if they take bryant.

by Ryan243 on Apr 22, 2010 9:55 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Kyle is great at 29

He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

KYLE WILSON??? ARE YOU FUCIN SERIOUS

by hulksmash24 on Apr 22, 2010 10:39 PM EDT reply actions

Come on man. How can they let sergio kindle Mt. Cody Jerry Hughes slip to get Kyle wilson

by hulksmash24 on Apr 22, 2010 10:43 PM EDT reply actions

We’ll trade up for them if we want them that badly, dude. They’ve got time to make that kind of move.

by Exystence on Apr 22, 2010 10:45 PM EDT up reply actions

damn

I was hoping they’d get Kindle

Wilson

We took Wilson at 29 cause if we hadn’t Minnesota would’ve grabbed him, insurance for Cromartie. Yeah CB its gonna be a heck of a 2nd rd. Release the Kraken lol

by Revis24 on Apr 22, 2010 10:48 PM EDT reply actions

And now we have some 18 hours

For MikeyT to make some creative trades to get us a lower pick in the 2nd.

Yeah

At least Yahoo Sports was almost convinced Wilson would be drafted in the top 10. You can be sure this has lit a fire under Wilson. He’s as competitive as they come.

Wilson

Wilson is a beast of a cover guy. Plus this lets Jerricho concentrate on receiving as we have our new PR right here.

by elyankee on Apr 22, 2010 10:54 PM EDT reply actions

Wow. Why would the Colts take Hughes?

by Crackback on Apr 22, 2010 10:55 PM EDT reply actions
