Jets Look to Trade Kellen Clemens
With only two days until the draft, the Jets are trying to trade Clemens for a late-round draft pick, league sources have told ESPNNewYork.com. If they can't trade him -- and it will be difficult -- the Jets are prepared to release the former second-round pick.
With Mike Holmgren calling the shots instead of Eric Mangini now in Cleveland, it seems like a long shot the Jets will find any takers. If a team wants to use a late round pick on a quarterback, it might as well select a rookie with potential instead of a proven non entity.
If the Jets can find a taker, that extra pick could be currency to help a trade up.

What do i not understand
if they are going to release him, wouldn’t they have been better off not tendering him, letting him be a UFA and if anyone signed him they’d have a few extra bucks to sign another player?
Plus almost any UFA we could have signed would have been better then someone we get with a late round pick.
Unless of course the Jets actually see something in Clemens and don’t want him playing in the AFC East, but if they saw anything in him they wouldn’t be trading him.
Mauldin Played for Columbus a few years ago, He has six career games.
He's not that expensive and he can at least start if Sanchez goes down
Quality back ups are worth more to me than a guy who may not even make the team.
I wish Cops was on...
He can play the position (granted not well) and knows the offense
He’s better than what is available with a 7th round pick.

Dixon
Dixon will likely be given a chance in training camp and preseason to make a case for himself. Otherwise it will be Batch and Lefty.
And then we all woke up!
