Jerry Hughes Loves Jets Defense
So yesterday we had Brandon Graham talking about the Jets, today it's GGN's favorite Jerry Hughes, who also talked to the NY post
"I love their defense," Hughes said. "They were No. 1 in the NFL. They have a defensive-minded head coach. They know how to play ball up there. When you go to a team like that who knows how to play defense, being a defensive player you love being out there."
How he sums up his play:
"Oh man, tenacious. When I get out there on that field, I’m coming for that quarterback full speed on every play."
"I don’t think it’ll be too much of an adjustment," he said. "I’ve worked on it since the Combine and I think I’ve pretty much got it down. At the end of the day it’s about going out there and playing football, something I love to do."
Obviously I don't want to speak for everyone, but I can't imagine there will be too many people disappointed if we came away with Jerry Hughes tomorrow night. I for one would be delighted. He loves the game, he loves to work, and he loves the Jets D, which I'm sure would love him back.

I'm convinced
There’s no way he’s lasting till 29. I’m also convinced I want him on our team. I’m also convinced I don’t want us to trade up in the draft. This is all irreconcilable :(
This is not the draft to move up in
This draft is so deep that you really can’t move up unless you have an absolutely dire need at the position of that player. Plus, you know something good is going to fall to you in the first round and early second round. I’d be more in favor of trading down and taking advantage of those awful teams with early second round picks.
That being said, I’d be thrilled if Hughes was still there at 29.
With the faneca rumors swirling don’t be shocked if we trade up for iupati. If he is as good as they say he is we would have 3/5 of oline in place for next 10 years. Getting Taylor allows us to go oline round 1.

Agreed
I thought this could be the case with the Faneca news, but reading Gholston moving to DE that is what really made me think Iupati or Mike Pouncey moved over to Gaurd. Leon, and Bryan Thomas on the block too.
