Santonio Holmes WILL Serve 4-Game Suspension
ESPN's Adam Schefter recently confirmed it with this Tweet:
Jets WR Santonio Holmes will be suspended the first four games, a league source said. So Jets will be without Holmes for opener and beyond.
No surprise to any of us. He will be available for only 12 regular season games this season, rather than the full 16.

Man, if the Jets keeping making these moves HBO is goner make hard knocks pay per view
I can’t wait for this show to start. There is so many stories I want to hear. From LT to Cromatie, to Holmes, there is so many reasons to watch. Not to mention Sexy Rexy!!!
The Jets are going to be everybody’s team to beat this year. I sure hope Rex is able to keep them focused and not allow them to be overconfident. Everybody will be looking to knock them off.
Dumped Edgar Renteria and adopted Buster Posey. Biggest upgrade since George Jefferson moved up to a deluxe apartment on the east side!
We were 9-7 last year, let’s not pencil ourselves in as the Superbowl favorites just yet.

We were also one half away from the Superbowl and just got much better on both sides of the ball and we didn’t even draft yet.
Oh no, is that unbridled optimism I detect? I’ve been a fan of this team for way too long to have any of that left!

Hey, why not us? We’re as good as anybody else is. And if we draft good, our defense will reach a ascary level.
That’s what I’m hoping bro. It’s just been so many letdowns for so many years and in so many different ways.

Watch out
pessimism will pretty much get you run out of here. Anything less than borderline arrogance isn’t tolerated by the regulars.
I’m with you though. Every time I think it’s gonna be the year things implode.
But I LOVE LOVE LOVE these moves we’re making. Being a Jets fan has been genuinely exciting since the Favre deal. This teams makes moves. But not stupid Redskins moves.
Yeah I am with the both of you
Love the optimism, stay away from the kool-aid. Lot of what-ifs. They go our way it could be a magical season, it doesn’t go away, another wait till next year.
Good deal, but not as lopsided as people think
It becomes essentially a 5th round pick in a very deep draft for 12 game rental of a probowl WR with some baggage.

Thats still much cheaper than we got Edwards for...
and most thought he was going to be a FA, not to mention he as not as good a receiver and I think it was for even less games, with no (Jets) camp to work on the play book. Yet everyone thought that was a steal as well.
Even with the suspension
I think this is a super bargain. BUT, Jets staff and other talent needs to make sure they can keep Holmes off the pot and away from the clubs. Not that I don’t understand. When I was younger I held pot at a higher esteem than my career or freedom too. Still do in some ways I guess. But if I had the natural ability to make millions of dollars playing sports I’d like to think I’d put weed on the back burner for my families sake. And my own.
Unless Holmes turns into crap overnight this was a steal. A FIFTH ROUND PICK for a young first round choice who never really dropped off in play. I don’t care how deep the damn draft is. Pro Bowlers come out of all rounds of the draft every year. If you think the Jets won’t move to keep him if his play is consistent you’re nuts.
This is nothing short of an amazing move. this is becoming a busy year. Come on Jason Taylor or Adalius Thomas!
