Dream Team
So what would you do if you could have everything go the way you wanted it to? Who would you draft? Who would you trade for? But it has to be somewhat realistic.
If I had it my way it would break like this:
Leon Washington and Brad Smith are signed and we acquire a 2nd round pick for each. As a result, we now have a late first round and 3 second round picks, in addition to picks in rounds 4-7.
2nd ROUND DRAFT SELECTIONS
1) Jerry Hughes -- Yes. In my dream he's still available in the early 2nd round.
2) Toby Gerhart
3) Jordan Shipley
TRADE
Use our 1st and 4th round pick to move up to acquire the 19th pick from our new buddies the 49ers and select Earl Thomas, who was luckily there to be had due to the Raider's selection of Taylor Mays and the run on OT and DT earlier in the round.
We use a package of the picks in rounds 5-7 (not necessarily all of them) and/or player(s) to be named later to acquire Shaun Rogers from the Browns, who has been reported to be on the block.
This is my Dream Team. I'm sure plenty will disagree with it, so go ahead and rip away if you feel like it. But know that it could happen.

Hell that’s your dream team, so won’t rip it but here is mine:

(3rdDRB) Darius Marshall
Offensive line the same as usual

I like I like. Thought about taking Rolle in the 4th as well, but i figured since i was dreaming and all i might as well go get Earl Thomas. Lol. Heck Al Davis is crazy and might just take Mays and so Thomas could be there in the high teens. Then I saw the Niners sitting there and figured, well they just gave us a 2nd for Leon…
I really wish i could be a fly on the wall for the Tanny and Rex off-season meetings. That must be some good stuff.
It would be absolutely excellent. Bet they have a bit of a laugh when evaluating these prospects as well. Forgot to add to that team that the nickel corners/safeties would be a combination of Lowery/Smith/Rolle and Ihedigbo……looks good…if only things worked out like people draw them up.

Must be hard though. I bet he’s every bit the fan we are. Probably more so. So it must be hard when you truely like a guy and believe in him, and watch him play his guts out for you, but have to cut/trade him bc its best for the team. He gets to know everything about these guys. He watches a guy like Leon, who he probably likes personally and has gotten to know his parents and his wife and kids, and watches him bust his ass to get back out on the field. And then he will have to look him in the eye and tell him he let him go for a 2nd round pick. Ouch!
i tell ya what
you gotta know your accounting skills lol. not only is mike gotta make a talentaed team, he has to do it on the cheap
