Will We Wait on Feely?

Jay Feely's Twitter account indicates those of us waiting for some resolution on his situation may have to wait.

My crew getting ready for 2 five hour flights out to Maui. We'll see if they are as cheerful after flying!!

I'm sure his agent's still working. Will Jay sign somewhere without visiting the team? Only he knows.

Favre in situation only....

For reasons that escape me, the Jets signed Folk (I’ll bypass that for now since it was dicussed in infinitum in prior posts). For me, that’s a hugh error.

But we’re where we are right now. Kickers seem to be unlike other NFL positions in terms of team signings. This, of course, excludes a 40 year old QB currently wearing purple who in the interest of civility will remain nameless. They can bump someone off a roster spot at any time during the season. Of course, why it won’t happen to Feely, they could end up without a job at the start of the season.

It’s clear that right now teams aren’t focusing on that position, which may be why you see some aloofness from the Feely entourage. But for the Jay to be a Jet this season, he’d need to feel the love from Green. I’d love to see him remain a Jet, but I’m sad to say I don’t see that happening. Becuz there are too many games during the season that come down to that final play, which is often a field goal. I felt good with Feely. I can’t say that with Folk. Name a team that improved with Folk as their kicker.

And that doesn’t even scratch the surface regarding team play and team leadership. And I said I wouldn’t get on a soapbox….

Um.
Name a team that improved with Folk as their kicker.

Folk has only played on one team in his career, and up until he missed 4 out of 11, he was in the mid 80’s in terms of percentage. He did a very good job with Dallas. I would prefer Feely to, but this is not something I will get to upset about or continue to harp on.
