New User Guide/Refresher

This time of year brings plenty of new readers to our site. I want to welcome anybody out there new to the site. We've put up a guide for new users talking about how to use the features on the site like FanPosts, Fanshots, and Recs, Facebook and Twitter links, and guidelines for potential writers.

You don't need to be a writer here to be a great contributor, though. All you have to do is register for a free account. You can begin commenting, offer us links for consumption in FanShots, or write an article style post of your opinion in FanPosts. It's kind of like having your own blog without the hassle. That goes for lurkers too. Join in the fun.  Register today and start contributing.

Finally I'd like to have a word with existing users. Please brush up on the Community Guidelines. I've noticed things getting a bit heated among some users in recent comments. Please remember to lay off personal attacks. Disagree with somebody's argument all you want, but keep it civil. Don't attack others or their motives. Don't threaten them. Don't call them names. We have a pretty slow trigger with banning here aside from obvious trolls, but I want the stuff I just mentioned to end. There are going to start being consequences. I'm not singling anybody out. I'm just saying something to keep in mind. The rules apply to everybody here from me on down.
