Gang Green Nation Community Mock Draft Pick #17

Newcomb29(Edge) addressed San Francisco's right tackle problem by taking Trent Williams in the first round. Where will they go now? Let's find out.

With the seventeenth pick in the Gang Green Nation Community Mock Draft, Newcomb29(Edge) picks for the San Francisco 49ers...

Brandon Graham

The 49ers also need help rushing the passer and this guy would fit great in their system, anywhere the ball goes he goes. He could put his hand in the dirt on the left side(Niners need help there even though he is a bit undersized) or play some OLB or TED linebacker. While Takeo Spikes is one of the best to play the TED LB position his end is near. Drafting Graham would give the Niners pass rush help and a linebacker of the future to go with Patrick Willis.

My reaction:

I'm a huge Graham fan. He'll have to learn how to play standing up in San Francisco's 3-4, but I could see the transition being pretty quick.  Graham is a smart player with good instincts. He's  powerful and uses his hands well. He should be able to do good work right off the bat against the run and as a pass rusher. He's athletic enough to hold his own in coverage. Newcomb's done great work here. He's filled two holes in San Francisco's starting lineup in the first seventeen picks. Earl Thomas is another option here, but I really like Graham.

What do you have to say about the pick, Gang Green Nation?

Great pick

His athleticism should allow him to thrive in their 3-4 once he adjusts. Like it a lot.

It's what the Niners call there SAM

I watched it on CSN seeing as I live in Nevada and I get California sports channels. Singletary run’s his OLB as TED and something else, I forget what it is called

This would be a good draft for the 49ers. Adding help on the O-line and defensive front 7 is how you win long term. Kinda feels like the Jets draft a few years ago with Ferguson and Mangold, not flashy, but solid.
