Another Point in Brodney Pool's Favor
With all of the moves the Jets have made, the signing of Brodney Pool has flown under the radar. I think I can speak for the other writers here when I say we are in favor of the signing. We like what we have seen from the guy. There's another reason to feel good about the signing, though.
Pool came from Cleveland. Does anybody know the defensive coordinator who coached Pool this year was? It was Rob Ryan, Rex's brother.
One can only imagine Rex spoke a lot with his brother about Pool and would not have signed him without a good review. The Jets had a more reliable source of information for this move than they would have with the average signing. It's another sign they made a great move.

I have heard Jets fans speaking negatively about Pool after they admitted that they have not seen hardly any of his games. Concussions are a problem sure, but let’s give the guy a chance.
Completely under-valued pick up so far this off-season.

He did have that
92 yard interception, underrated.

on the field he is a very talented player that always gives good effort…sometimes a little too much effort. He would sacrifice himself for the play and that is how he got some of the concussions. for the price it is definitely a good move. Pool never truly lived up to his potential, maybe partially because of the concussions. However, he is still a fine player and as long as he doesn’t take another hit to the head, would be a good starter.

Appreciate you stopping in bross, after Kerry Rhodes half hearted effort, hearing that a player will lay it all on the line, is music to my ears

yeah. He truly gives his all. I wish him the best of luck. He was a hard worker and entertaining player. I do hope too that he can stay healthy. I never wish bad health on a player and although I am sad he is gone, I want his pro career to continue and I fear one more concussion could end it.

Absolutely, injuries are never welcome, and I think if he does sustain another, then he has to do what is best for himself and his family. Hopefully though he can stay injury free, will have to put some padding in that helmet, some fur like Sanchez wore when it got cold. Was a big fan of Pool, and had nothing but good things to say about him when I saw him play last year. Hoping for the best

Completely agree with you guys. But I still want to grab a Safety in the mid-late rounds in case he knocks himself out again.
Myron Rolle
would be a nice pick up, heck he might even be the safety of the future

That would be a great mid round pick in my book.

Agree.
I’d like to pick up a safety in the draft for insurance.
+1
id love it if they trade up to get taylor mays or iff possibly eric berry. we have very few needs to fill so if it costs us a couple of later draft picks I’d be fine with it I think that both of those safeties will wind up dominating the league.
The only guy I would actually throw my tv out the window. No to Taylor Mays.

I highly doubt it. He is looking like the Vernon Gholston of the safeties.

If that happens.
I used to gamble on sports, I’ve seen all sorts of backdoors and crazy things, so am open to everything.
Taylor Mays being one of the top 3 safeties in the league is not even an anomaly, it’s IMPOSSIBLE. lol

lol my pick last year for biggest bust was Maybin………jury is still out but he didn’t look very good.
Mays could become a good safety, I can’t see it, but you can never write him off completely with those physical attributes.

Trust
For the first time I have complete confidence in the moves the Jets make from their drafts to their free agent signings and all in between.I was 7 yrs.old when I went to their first game with my father at Downing Stadium on Randall’s Island.Season ticket holder since 1976 but can’t afford the PSL’s so I’ll watch at home with my grandson.
PSL’s certainly have isolated a lot of people, there was a story a while back, might of been in the Times, about a husband and wife who had been to every single home game since the late 60’s who are being forced to give up their tickets, so there definitely are a few stories like that.
