lol exactly.

I had hbo forever but got rid of it last year after Entourage ended, because they played the same garbage movies time after time. Now we got the summer shows coming back, along with Jets Hard Knocks, time to get the on demand back crackin.

Manish has also said that although it is not confirmed yet, it seems likely that the Jets will host the Texans on thanksgiving.

Not official yet, but it looks like #Jets will host #Texans on Thanksgiving Night.Houston owner Bob McNair confirmed both tms want it.

The Texans wanted to be on Hard Knocks but they were late in expressing their desire for it. It looks like the Thanksgiving game is to make up for them not getting on the HBO show.

Gholston

Hey folks,
Been following this site for news and opinions all year. I was previously on nj.com forum as “chrebetrules”—this gives me a lot more info in a more respectful and intelligent manner—thanks! Anywho, first time poster.

I’d love to see them make a story of the Gholston situation. Would love to know what’s going on in that guy’s head/heart, assuming he’s still around for camp.

Welcome to the site wolverjets, glad to have you on board.

I agree this will give us a good look into Gholston, see how he practises, what he says etc etc.

Definitely looking forward to that aspect of it.

I don’t know if anyone noticed… but I’m a huge fan of this dude, and I hope they just keep him on the line as a DE. I keep saying it, but everyone keeps telling me, “HE’S BEEN ON THE LINE AND HE’S STILL UNPRODUCTIVE!!!” Yeah yeah yeah, I don’t care lol. This has got to be his year! I don’t want to label him a bust… maybe we all should write a letter to him, let him know we’ve got his back.

He’s going to be extremely productive… I can feel it in my bones. It’s Mangini’s fault I tell ya!!!

I wish I could believe you, but at best I think he will be a rotational guy, at worst he will be out of the league in 2-3 years. Simple fact is that he had a whole off-season with Rex and had 4 starts to prove himself, and his production was nowhere to be seen. This is one of the rare occasions where I am only too willing to say you were right, and I was wrong if it happens.

I like the DE move for Gholston, but I think he would need to add more bulk. He did seem to hold his own last year when he played there in spots, but he didn’t get much of a push. If he stays out at OLB he needs to add some pass rush moves.

by Crackback on Mar 24, 2010 2:05 PM EDT up reply actions

He is way to small to play

DE in the 3-4. If he can’t get pressure off the edge against one lineman, what makes you think he can beat double teams as a down lineman? The only way Gholston can be succesful on the line, IMO, is in the 9 technique, lining up outside the TE. Anywhere in the middle of the line, it just won’t happen.

Thanks for the welcome

I almost signed up a couple of weeks ago but didn’t find the time. I wanted to comment on the Zoltan Mesko piece that mentioned our interest in him.
As a Michigan alum, I wanted to tell you guys that he’s a chuck norris-like cult hero to michigan fans. He’s known as the Space Emperor (of space). Here’s an example:
http://mgostore.spreadshirt.com/zoltan-space-emperor-A1472765
He’s gonna be an amazing pro, and he’s a really smart guy and great leader. I would definitely use a late round pick on him.

As for Gholston, even though it’s hard to root for a Buckeye (I’ve definitely gotten over that w/ Mangold), I really hope he turns it around. My gut, unfortunately, says that his heart just isn’t in it. I’d love to see his effort (or lack thereof) in depth and on camera.

What is everyone's thoughts on this?

Will it be distracting, or can it help motivate the Jets to another historic playoffs run this year?

I’m a little nonchalant towards this to be honest, it’s unlikely I will get to see it anyway. Will it be a distraction? possibly but I doubt it, I don’t really see it as a motivator either, it’s just one of those things really. Wouldn’t of minded if we didn’t get it, not too fussed that we did get it.

they tend to follow teams with a built in story line .

T.O. , OCho dickback and Rex. Rex will deflect any distractions on to himself .

by Troy O on Mar 24, 2010 1:52 PM EDT up reply actions

I think it will be a motivator. Nobody will want to look like crap when they know half the country is watching. And we know how this team thrives in the lime-lite. But it might make us more of a marked team bc you know some of our guys are going to talk smack.

As for it being a distraction, I don’t think it will be really. I don’t think camera crews are all that intrusive. Most of the practice stuff seems to be from far away. It would only be bad if the smack talk gets out of control. And I hate to say it, but Rex worries me the most. He loves to take his shots at other teams and giving him this kind of national forum might be too much.

unfortunately HBO Canada does seem to carry Hard Knocks but I will try checking it out on the net after the fact. Should keep my kid happy.

Darrelle Revis

You’ve seen his youtube videos by now. He’s very serious on gameday but he’s actually got a silly side to him. I can’t wait to see more of that. And overall, I’m expecting to see the Jets working hard but still having fun playing the game of football.

I have a feeling,

the Dolhpins and Pats might not be too happy with us after this is over with. I can see Rex, Woody, Jenk, Scott, etc. doing lots of talking. This is going to be awesome, I can’t wait to watch this.

Remember all the stuff we heard last year about Bart Scott taking the mick out of Sanchez, looking forward to hearing some of that kind of stuff. I think I will get over the Dolphins possibly having a problem with us, because some of the players hurt their feelings.

Oh I don't give a shit,

whether they like us or not. I’m not saying I’m worried about it, I can’t wait for it. Everybody talks about bulletin board material, but that only matters if you are good enough to win the game. Nobody talks about bulletin board material after a team who has bulletin board material gets beat 31-10.

@Mass Jets Fan/rest of crowd

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe we got Mangold, not only because Mawae left that year, but our OLine was in shambles. Also, he traded up to grab Revis, (I believe I remember reading this) He heard that Panthers/Giants/Pats, were interested. Honestly we got lucky with Mangina picking Revis, could u imagine if he heard that the Pats were interested in Aaron Ross? We’d be screwed. I still believe to this day, the main reason he took Gholston, wasn’t just for what he saw, but because NE planted rumors that they were going to take him at 7, notice how once we took Gholston, the Pats immediately traded down to 10. Mangina, is too paranoid/secretive/ and tries too hard to make examples of players. Example, Belicheat, the problem becomes, u can throw ur weight around with grown men, if u have 3 rings, they will listen. If u try those tactics without 3 rings, its not gonna work. Look at the 3 years we had with him, we wouldn’t have gone 9-7 the last year, if not for our talent, and Favre being a “good boy” til he got hurt. I think Mangini is a bad HC, I think the Browns won the last couple games cause of Cribbs, and Rob Ryan. Holmgren should fire Mangini, and make Rob Ryan the head coach. I mean look at how Mangina, threw Kokinis or however u spell it under the bus. Would u want to work with/for the guy?

by Revis24 on Mar 24, 2010 8:17 PM EDT reply actions

sorry

Sorry, about the rant, but Mangina’s entitlement pisses me off. Yeah Belicheat cheated, but at least he put in some kind of “WORK” before he started throwing his weight around.

A little help guys

I’m not always by my computer and it seems like i get a few post too late. Is there a way I can get the post sent to my phone. I hae to admit I just got a great phone, the Droid. Sorry for the plug, but it is a great phone. Myabe I could get HBO on it, because the only thing I watched on HBO is Entourage and inside the NFL; so I have not had it the last couple of years. I didn’t even seen last year’s Hard Knocks. However, there is no way I’m missing this.

That would be a cool option to have posts/comments SMS or MMS text messaged to our phones. It could get too crazy with the amount of comments that are made sometimes though.

What a season this is looking for the jets...

I think this shows that they are no longer a lower tier team, or a team that can be crossed off as a win at the beginning of the season.

Haven't been able to watch the Devils on TV since 2008

I’ve never seen this show (I don’t have HBO, probably have to catch it on the net somehow), but it’d be fun to see these guys interacting with each other. Please keep us updated on when it airs, you guys are awesome!
