jets work out Iupati
Jets eyeing Iupati in Round 1?
2:35PM ET New York Jets Top Email
The Brandon Marshall rumors taught us many things, but perhaps most centrally: The New York Jets value their first-round pick (No. 29 overall) more highly than many of us realize. After all, the ongoing belief is that if the Jets offered that pick, the Denver Broncos would easily accept a trade that would give Mark Sanchez and crew a young, dominant asset.
So who are they so hellbent on taking that they wouldn't like to have Marshall instead? Maybe an offensive lineman, which would seem crazy given that they already had three Pro Bowlers on the O-line in 2009. According to a report from National Football Post, the Jets are among three teams that hosted Idaho guard Mike Iupati for a workout this week. Iupati played guard in college, but he has the potential to slide to RT as a pro. The strong might be getting even stronger.
In case you guys did not know!!!!!

Update
His workout was confirmed I like the prospect of getting the best guard in the draft. We have to players getting older on our line and selecting Iupati would solidfy our line for years to come imagine how good he could be learning from Faneca!!!
Its not the sexy pick but could pay the most dividends in the end. Also he is probably the safest pick in terms of guarenteed production at the slot we pick at.
One last point games are won in the trenches never forget that!

What were the two other teams?
I hate to get up for a particular player and have some team right before us snatch him up.
Not surprised that we are doing this, always have to do your due diligence, and if you think they are a potential stud you take them. However we will work out up to 30 players before the draft, so need to keep that in mind.

I’m thinking we should keep a record of the players that we are bringing in for a personal work out, right now off the top of my head, I think only two are confirmed, Lupati and Toby Gerhart.

Hmmm
I thought Iupati worked out for the Steelers but maybe I am wrong. He certainly getting named by a lot of Pittsburgh fans as a possible choice.
I may be old but I... oh d*mn, I forgot what I was going to say.
