Sharper

If the Jets really want to make a splash they should sing Sharper who is a ball hawk and will benefit in rex system. Then I will feel confident going against the colts and Patriots. Also if Tate from Notre Dame is sitting at #29 I susgest that we take him in that spot, if he is not available then take Dunlap from Florida  or the kid from Rutgers McCourty.Hey Mr.T is time to make it to the Super Bowl. Go Jets

Dunlap won't happen,

neither will McCourty, at least not in the first round. I doubt Tate also. I just have a feeling it’s going to be Odrick, or one of the Hughes/Graham/Kindle pass rushing group.

Sharper is a beast, but we just signed a free safety, it seems unlikely, thought I won’t put anything past Mike.

Lets get Sharper

Look at the year Ed Reed had, now he wants to retire thats because he does not have the T-Rex with him, I belive Sharper would make the Jets defence sick ,just think what he is going to bring to team, beside you cannot have to many players in the nfl.

Sharper is looking to be paid his fair $$, being a UFA, unless someone picks Jay Feely up for around $2.5 million next season it’s not happening. Only way we could backload a deal to make the initial year match is by offering a guaranteed multi year deal. For a safety of his age moving to a new system. No thanks. Give Pool a chance.

Sharper would be nasty

I would love to see Sharper in a Jets Uniform… I agree bringing this guy in and have the cb’s that we have with the blitz schemes. We would lead the NFL in takeaways hands down. Pool I like way more then Rhodes, but they do knock pool’s ability in pass coverage. I can’t say that I watch the browns games at all (besides to laugh at Mangini) so I have never seen him in action. I do feel like they will still add another safety, just because of his injuries and skill set, I would rather see them grab a young guy in the draft that is cheaper than sharper and will potentially be productive for years to come.

Sharper well be a jet.

For these reason mark my words after feely or douglas sign with a team jets are going to make a big big move to get sharper and well make are defense the most feared in the league. Plus the jets should also do what Crackback said on his post about Osi for Leon good move on both parts just think of that line Ellis,Jenkins,Osi oh my this defense would run over offenses every week. Jets really need to do those moves so it can open up are choices with are 1st round pick so the jets can get the WR the we really need such as Bryant if for some crazy reason he’s still there or Tate because there both proven studs. If the jets do those moves they well make are championship view look a little more clearer then ever.

Osi would play LB here.

I just highly, highly doubt that we go offense in the first round. If we did, I just doubt it would be receiver, not with 3 passing threats already and a run first team. The only way I seem them going offense in the first round is if they just fall in love with a guy like Ryan Matthews.

If the Jets wanted to spend a first rounder on a WR,

they can get Brandon Marshall right now. I’m fairly sure if somebody offers first Marsh will be gone the next day.

Agree with both of those. I don’t think Tate is good enough to push J-Co out of the way, and although Bryant is good enough I don’t think there’s a chance in hell he makes it all the way to us. I could see them maybe falling for Matthews bc he’s not only big and fast, but he’s a complete back that has decent hands and reputation for solid pass blocking.

I think defense is definitely the best bet. We have needs at OLB, DE and possibly DT if Jenkins isn’t healed. Was thinking about Jenkins and how he doesn’t have much more time left. Wouldn’t be suprised if Rex talks Tanny into going after one of the stud DTs just to sure up the position for the future. We can’t operate without a good one. Mount Cody just might get taken at 29. If the guy is good for anything its jamming up the middle.

nrmax88, I think you may be on to somethng with Matthews. I just watched some video on him and he reminds me A LOT of LD. There could be a method to the madness after all.

I agree with you guys

but it seems like Mike T is thinking WR in the first round.

by Bro Namath on Mar 20, 2010 3:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Really?

I just can’t see it, unless it is somehow Dez Bryant. I would be shocked if Rex goes wideout on day 1.

indy and saints didn’t think like you either. god forbid a WR gets hurt but when it does and it will happen you may want to second guess. building depth for the future is the way of the future. if not for special teams also. my vikes have three no.1’s and are still considering another playmaker. imagine if c.j. spiller fell to you how could you pass on him ?

by gothicpurple on Mar 19, 2010 12:33 AM EDT reply actions

Spiller is a bust. He’s a 3rd down back. Not worth a 1st round pick. And if we had an all-world QB, WR would have more importance. But right now, our QB isn’t there yet an WR corps is pretty solid. AN injury at RB would be more devastating for our team than WR would. But if we can add both yourth and production on the defensive side, we’ll be dominant for years to come.

by Crackback on Mar 19, 2010 12:39 AM EDT up reply actions

Yes, because

I forgot the Colts and Saints added receiving depth with number 1 draft picks. They didn’t get Collie (4), Garcon (6), Colston (7), the Saints picked Meachem with a first rounder, other then that these two teams didn’t build their receiving cores with first round draft picks, yeah they have Wayne in Indy, but other then that they didn’t use top picks.

Why are you comparing the Vikings to the Jets? You guys rely on a much more aggressive offense involving a lot more throwing then the Jets do, we are totally different teams, with different methods of winning.
