The good behind Feeley leaving!
With Janikowski receiving a 4million dollar contract feeling might command a contract in the 2.5mil range. Now while losing Feeley might suck that could be enough to sign Darren Sharper as a constellation prize.
I am not familiar with the complete list of UFA's but with around 2.5mil there might be someone of interest that can help this team. At that point we would need to hope Folk can return to old form. Something I am not confident in.

I agree any other kicker options out there to compete with Folk if Feely does leave?

Billy Cundiff / Baltimore / UFA
Jay Feely / N.Y. Jets / UFA
Stephen Gostkowski / New England / RFA
Shayne Graham / Cincinnati / UFA
Rhys Lloyd / Carolina / RFA
Olindo Mare / Seattle / FFA
Neil Rackers / Arizona / UFA
Jeff Reed / Pittsburgh / FFA
Matt Stover / Indianapolis / UFA
Shaun Suisham / Dallas / RFA
somebody like billy cundiff would be pretty cheap, but whoever is signed doesnt even have to neccasarily be on this list.
All i know is that we better not go after shayne graham. i think he still has nightmares about us
i say Neil Rackers or Cundiff let the best man win and keep the 2nd kicker on for at least the first quarter of the season…

I'd rather
have the big dipper for a constellation prize.

Hes the man
Lets keep Jay hes a beast he tackles and makes kicks
I hope The Jets dont plan on keeping Folk. What makes them think he can kick in the swirling winds in the Meadowlnads, when he couldnt kick in Dallas. which is basically a dome. Keep Feely.
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently his problems were caused by rushing back too fast and then there being a glitch in his mechanics. He claims that he’s now fully healed and he corrected his mechanical flaw, so he should return to form. If thats the case, then thats probably why the Jets aren’t going after Feely.
sounds like "i need a job fotter".i will believe it when i see it .
i would think dallas would be brite enough too check the tape as well…. feeley is the man ..if he wasnt so pissed at the giants ,i would take him back in a second…..
Dallas didn't care what the excuse was.
He was missing kicks and they were in a playoff race. They needed somebody for right then, so they cut him. I mean, he has already signed with the Jets, so now it all comes down to whether he makes kicks or not, not what he says or doesn’t say.

he was missing kicks all year! and thank god for that...part of the reason giants were 2-0 against them.
i have seen alot of both these guys and i would take feeley in a heart beat..he does all the things you need a kicker to do and more…i would suck it up and sign him ..jets are that close, why let 1.5 mill get in the way of getting to the big show…..
Not really.
He was 14 of 16 before he missed 4 of 11.

ok ...so they had 9 games 2 fix what was wrong, and checking tape did not cross there mind.
you know i hate the cowboys and im hoping they are as incompetent as you make them out ..well good luck with this guy, who peaked in 07.and has the mental stability of a turkey on the eve of thanksgiving…
9 games?
What are you talking about? Is using the reply button so hard? Are the jokes you make always this bad? The Cowboys cut him because he started missing kicks down the stretch of the season. They couldn’t afford to try to work what was wrong out, because they were in a playoff hunt and needed the stability. If the Jets (who have the best special teams coordinator in the NFL), signed the guy, they must have saw him and saw something they liked.
I’m also tired of hearing how unclutch the guy is, as awesome as Feely was, he missed 2 in the Colts game, and nobody calls him a choker.

interesting............ i wonder why a team would cut,........wait hear it comes .a
26year old, former probowler, who only had a “couple bad games” and not resign him…….hmmm. and that rep is slippen ,Lets not forget Ted Ginn. and please dont try to sell that nonsense . its not like he is dave duncan.as a kicker your a mental midget or your not.now your gonna tell me about all the kickers he has turned around……im waiting.hey if im wrong im wrong .i would get feeley back, but thats me.maybe im wrong .time will tell….im sure one wont let the other forget during the year…
Why would he resign with Dallas after they cut him?
Why are you just assuming they could have gotten him back after they cut him?
Yeah, it actually is like Mike Westhoff is Dave Duncan, he is one of the best, if not the best special teams coordinator the NFL has ever seen.
im sure one wont let the other forget during the year…
Right, I’m sure of that, since you are always around here trolling, trashing whatever move the Jets are rumored to be making. I’m not saying they shouldn’t bring back Feely, I’m just saying Folk doesn’t suck.

well!! my word..where do i start....u glossed over this part well....-->
26year old, former pro bowler, who only had a "couple bad games" …….and i guess you forgot my , wikipedia has pool a jet sooo.. 9 days ago by Troy O…..ii did a whole lot of bashing in that one….And my point in all this is .Why in gods green nation would a pretty competent organization like dallas, let the guy go ,if not more below the surface ????but if you wonna believe they have the majic poe-shun good luck …..regarding me trolling, well living on LI i have alot of jet fan friends .so i like 2 know the goings on.. And westhoff is the best in the bizz but its not the same as a pitching coach ………..
i have also learned , that a missed spelled word,a poke here or there will easily inspire your wrath.
so its not below me too do so.also if i was not" trolling"your bias would run- a -moc..just tring too give things some perspective…….soo ease back off the insults because im yet too through one at you.
It's not wrath.
It’s just hard to read a whole post where you don’t capitalize any words, spell half of what you type wrong, skip over much punctuation, and you don’t seem to be very perceptive. About 150 times, you have asked why Dallas would let him go if he was good. The answer is simple, they were in a playoff race, and he was missing kicks. I would think to this point this is fairly easy to follow. You keep harping on the fact of Dallas not resigning him. What makes you think Dallas had any chance to resign him? Maybe he didn’t want to back to Dallas after the cut him. Why can’t you get that through your head? Just because the Cowboys didn’t bring him back doesn’t mean they had the opportunity to bring him back. I will take Nick Folk going forward over Shaun Suisham or No Leg Tynes.

tynes has leg. thats all he has is leg.its the rest of him that sucks.
i would think if dallas wanted him, they could of had him. he came 2 the jets for peanuts, hes a kicker, they cant afford too leave $ on the table.. im sure his fam would be syked if he uprooted them just 2 stick it too the cowboys..i think not. well cant wait for the season,im sure u feel the same. all ?s will be answered.
Yeah,
cause living in Dallas is better then living in NY for a dude from LA. It is so rare for athletes to leave one city after being cut, isn’t it? The idea of a football kicked switching cities, admittedly, is just absolutely bonkers. He said he wanted a chance to kick field goals, and kick off, which the Jets are going to give him the opportunity to do. I also found no evidence he has a family.

Pretty clutch. Not like Tynes who tried to boycott your trip to the superbowl against GB.
