I had the chance to pick for the Jets in Big Cat Country's mock draft. I think you guys would love it if that happened. :)

Nice selection, one question however, was Jerry Hughes available when you selected there?

Looks like he was available. I don’t see his name listed in the 1st round.

Jets fans here love him, he is late first/early second type player

I looked at him. He was on my radar only because you guys here love him so much.

I hadn’t even thought of him before that. Thing is, though, that I had Kindle higher than Hughes, and believe he will end up being a better player all around. I think the Jets might go for Hughes if Kindle is gone, but if Kindle somehow does fall to 29 (I actually think he’ll go in the late teens) I can’t see the Jets passing him up for Jerry Hughes.

That was my reasoning behind the selection, at least. I certainly don’t know as much about your team as you guys do, so Jerry might be a better prospect in the eyes of the Jet’s staff. Maybe. :)

Kindle probably ends up being the overall better player

But Hughes has a sort of Elvis Dumervil type of upside to him, where he has the ability to maybe be the best pure edge rusher in the whole draft. I think a player like that would be more useful to us, as we have a very well-rounded OLB already in Calvin Pace and our other OLB Bryan Thomas is excellent on the strong side at containing the run.
