Rumor: Jets interested in Marshal
This article is form yahoo sports:
It became clear Sunday that the New York Jets are thinking about making a run at finding the right package to entice the Denver Broncos to trade wide receiver Brandon Marshall(notes), according to the seattlepi.com.
I guess Marshal would help the Jets make some possible moves with Edwards or just overwhelm the opposition if Sanchez and Marshal become close like Manning and Harrison.
So that would be two studs at corner and two studs at WR.
I tell you what, it would be worth the money it if it keeps him away from the Dolphins and the Bills.

Not even going to get into this guy again, apart from say that the New York Times writer spoke with team officials late last night who said that this rumour had absolutely ‘no leg’s at all.

Why would our front office say it had legs, whether it did or not?
We know they play everything close to the vest. Even if a Brandon Marshall trade were done pending paper work, they would say it was totally untrue until it all came out as official. They also said Rhodes would be a big part of our defense next year. I’m not saying I believe it, I’m just saying that whether their front office says it has legs or not doesn’t mean anything to me.

This isn’t what Mike is saying, what he wants the public to hear, these are inside sources. Completely different to the Rhodes situation.

Not offended, I was not happy to hear about it either. I know your feelings about Marshal. So do the Broncos Fans. They quoted you in one of their blogs. Not saying I agree or disagree with you on those points, but I am really worried about all the changes this team is making. Is like they are selling out, getting talent over quality.

Leaving aside all the baggage looking at it purely from a football viewpoint, I think it would be a nightmare for opposing defenses to try to deal with our offense if Braylon and Brandon are split wide, Keller is in the slot, and our backfield is lined up in an I-formation.
Gotta keep both safeties over the top of both wide-outs and corners way too worried to think about the run;
Theres the dilemma of covering Keller with a LB out in space or a smaller DB who could get mauled if we run;
And then theirs that dominant o-line and thunderous back to contend with without being able to cheat a safety into the box and probably a LB too preoccupied with Keller to fully commit to the run.
It would be tough tough tough to contend with.

Whats the deal with Trader Mike these days. He needs to stay away from the troubled cases. We seem to be starting a collection.
We should just re-name the team to the Ellis Island Jets. Where men come to start their football careers anew without fear of judging or oppression. Our motto? Give us your elderly yet tenacious, Highly skilled yet legally troubled. Send us even your bible toting, condom challenged, fathers of many. For here in the murky depths of the River Hudson are your sins washed clean and youthfullness returned.

Just to nip this one in the bud, Braylon had 4 drops officially last season, Marshall, 8. Braylon’s 4 were on 80 thrown ats, Marshall’s on 149, so 8/140 is sooooo much worse than 8 on 149, isn’t it?
Seems Braylon doesn’t drop the ball more than some of the other best WRs in the league, maybe his are just more dramatic….
Go Jets
Go Devils
the 80 yard touchdown that hit him in the face was a heartbreaker

his drops are on sure fire touchdowns and should be maginfied accordingly, his drops are costly enough to be difference makers in the win lose column that should not be underestimated by numerical values.

There are two reasons that every great receiver has a lot of "drops".
One: They are thrown at all the time, Some are targeted 150 times in a year.
Two: There is no official “drop” stat, because “drops” are objective. What you think is a drop, I don’t. And vice versa. Is it a drop is you get the ball knocked out by a safety? Is it a drop if it is a horrible pass that only Edwards or Marshall or some other elite guy can get to, and can’t finish the tough play? Is it a drop when Edwards goes up to get a ball 10 and a half feet off the ground, and he only gets one hand on it, and doesn’t haul it in?
I don’t care about any drop stat. With a guy like Edwards, who makes unbelievable plays and has great physical skills, or Brandon Marshall, or T.O., etc., you take the drops because they do so much good the rest of the time, who cares if they have a mental drop now and then.
There are guys who get drops, and guys with no hands, you have to be able to tell the difference. Edwards makes big plays, although he can’t have another year of dropping touchdown passes thrown 50 yards down the field on target. What you can’t have are guys like McCareins, who suck, and also make drops. Any guy these side of Fitz is going to drop his share of balls, if you think about it, 8 drops in a year, considering the size and speed of the defenses, the weather, and the speed the ball is coming from the QB, not always accurately, isn’t so bad for a great receiver who makes plays all the time. So when I hear about drops for Marshall, T.O., or Edwards, I just don’t give a shit. These guys make plays.
