Rex Has Brief Hospital Stint for Procedure
Update: (DW)- Rex has weight loss surgery and hernia repaired
Rex Ryan was in the hospital today; but don't worry, Jets Fans. It was for a scheduled procedure.
Rich Cimini Tweeted over the details:
Rex Ryan in hospital today for "scheduled procedure," Jets say. Back home. No other details, but not believed to be serious.
Not going to speculate what it's about, that's for Rex's family to discuss. Just hope it isn't anything serious. You would think a bypass or something of that nature would be announced?
Hope the big fella is OK, we have a lot of winning to do in '10-11!!!

That Cimini tweet seems to suggest that he was just in their for a short period and is now home, so it can’t be too serious. Also apparently Mike T and Woody are at the Pac Man/Clotty fight tonight, so don’t think it is too serious.
Even so, wish for the best for him.

I hope he’s fine and enjoying the fight. You think he’s rooting for Pacquiao or Clottey?

I didn’t see the “Back home” part of the tweet, so I guess he is fine.

Yer sure he, was probably something quite routine if he is in and out in one day.
Will take a lot to bring the big man down.

Sure he has been told, and he was on that liquid diet and dropped a few pounds……hopefully he gets back on that. We want Rex around for a long time.

I’m glad it was a quick in and out surgery. Be healthy Rex!
Also, did you guys see this?
The Jets announced on their Web site Saturday night that they will flip a coin with the Giants to determine which team will host the first regular-season game at their new 82,500-seat, $1.6 billion stadium this season.
Really hope we win it.
It should ours by right. The Giants have had their own stadium for how many years? Let us have our moment in the sun, free from the ever-present, largely looming, Giants shadow.
Good for him, can imagine that when you get to be that size, it’s hard to maintain any kind of exercise regime, and a liquid diet is no way to live. Have the Jets not got a nutritionist, get them to draw up a plan and make sure Ryan’s wife keeps him to it.

True, I’d rather die than live on a liquid diet. They should hire an assistant to prepare Rex’ meals and keep his weight in check. His wife can’t watch him during those away games!
True. I would give him a nutritionist/cook lol If your a man of his size, you obviously love a little bit of food, so trying to make him stick to a liquid diet is pointless. Lot of steamed veg, meat, lots of stuff you can do. A good friend of mine is a nutritionist/personal trainer. Perhaps should give Rex a call ;-D

Lap band
My mom had the lap band procedure, which is what Rex Ryan had. It pretty much limits how fast you can eat as the band restricts the tube that goes into your stomach. If you eat too fast the food just comes right back up. It’s easily adjustable. You have to watch what you eat, mainly only mushy food’s. It is a lot healthier and safer than a gastric bypass.
He probably realized
that even with intensive exercise he would never beat a 7,000 calorie diet.
I like his paunch, but that’s got to be hard on his family, thinking you could lose him any day. He may be comfortable in his shoes but happy or not you don’t feel good when you look in the mirror with that kind of body weight.
Hopefully all went well for him.
