Tomlinson Leaves New York Without Contract
Adam Schefter says LaDainian Tomlinson has left his visit with the Jets still a free man.
While he mulls his choice between NY and Minn., LaDainian Tomlinson now is flying back to San Diego, free to think it through.
It's probably a tough call for him. As things stand right now, he'd probably have a bigger role in Minnesota but a better chance at a ring in New York.
Where do you think he ends up?

Minnesota
dont quite understand why we’d release jones, who is arguably healthier and more effective than LT now….and then go for signing LT…makes 0 sense in my mind. But whatever.
He said that he was going to go home no matter what at the start of this. Guy is a family man expecting a kid this summer, he obviously has to talk to his wife about this.
Gut says that he will be a Jet before the weekend is finished.

The signing of Pool probably means there isn’t a ton of interest in Sharper.

There shouldn’t be either, if we lose Douglas I hope we sign a DE to be perfectly honest
NFL shop is selling a Vikings Tomlinson jersey, are they hinting, do they have inside knowledge?

He will be a jet.
Why would he want to play for Minnesota when you could play for a New York team that are ready to accomplish his #1 goal unless they give him much more money.

Most analysts outside of NY say
That LT would actually have a bigger role in NY b/c S.Green isn’t anywhere near as established as Peterson. Then go on to say he would have a better chance at a SB in Minny, NFL.com, Yahoo, etc.
I know I am a Viking fan but I will say if Favre comes back LT has a better chance to win a SB in Minny. Next year alone. After next year the Jets are pretty sure they will know who their starting QB is and he may have a better chance later on with the Jets.
I just don’t think LT has as much left in the tank as he thinks and should take a shot at winning the SB right away. Not that the Jets are that far off and there is the pending issue on Favre.
It will be interesting to see what he does. If Westbrook didn’t have concussion issues than I’d say he would be a better fit for both teams, but then again Philly might have resigned him if that were the case.
If the Jets can get a legit #1 reciever(Braylon Edwards is not), then watch out. Their lack of explosive plays really hurt them against the Colts.
Nice pick-up with Cromartie. Yes the Vikes need to shore up their secondary…
One power slam from Brock and Mir might be dead. He better watch his words. He'll be eating them soon.
I disagree on the first two points. Tomlinson would be the third back in New York behind Greene and Washington as things stand now. As far as I can tell, LT would replace Chet Taylor as the number two in Minnesota.
The Jets made the conference title game last year with the league’s best defense, which will be largely in tact and a rookie quarterback, who should be better. Minnesota is largely pinning its hopes on the return a 40 year old quarterback, which is no given, and needs him to duplicate a career year so the team can avoid an outdoor Playoff game. This was their year.

Washington isn't established enough nor can he stay healthy
To be considered a #2RB over LT. If LT goes to NY he would have to be the #2 and be out there for most 3rd downs.

@VikesPma
where’s your sources about that?
Look who the vikes are depending at the qb position BF.
I know he could be great at times but at times he also can be not great,
Wait how old is he …. damn i just ruined your day

How many INTs did Sanchez throw last year?
20. If Favre(7INTs) comes back next season there is no team in the league with a better chance at a title. Sanchez got by with a good running game and D, but will have to throw more downfield, so I guess we will see how that goes. He through 20INTs without having to go downfield much last season, he will be a year better but its no guarantee he won’t throw too many INTs again.
I know Sanchez was a rookie but he is nowhere near the class Favre is and might never be. I only said LT has a better chance at a ring next year with the Vikes. He may have a better chance over the 3 years in NY, but I don’t think he has that much left in him.
The Jets lack big play ability in their passing game and it will hurt them. Unless they go out and get a legit #1 receiver, because B.Edwards is not. I like your TE Keller, they should use him more.
What a slap in the face to Thomas Jones. Dude runs for over 1400 and gets dropped just to avoid a roster bonus he earned! Green came on good the end of last year but there it cant be assumed he will be as good as Jones over the course of an entire season. With gambling on Green I see why you guys want LT. The line in SD was a pass blocking O-line so he might have something left behind the leagues best run blocking line in the Jets.
Hamdi – my sources come from the articles I have read on Yahoo Sports and NFL.com. Most analysts think LT would have a better shot at a SB, next year only, with the Vikings.
I’m no rocket Scientist but if Favre wasent going to come back he would have said it by now. Admitedly he is a Diva and this is how he like to do it.

I think Minnesota would have a better shot at the Super Bowl than the Jets if Favre returns, but Ladanian is going to make his decision without knowing about Brett. I love the Jets, but let’s be realistic. We have high hopes, but we barely made the playoffs last year while the Vikings were a dominant team.
Dumped Edgar Renteria and adopted Buster Posey. Biggest upgrade since George Jefferson moved up to a deluxe apartment on the east side!

The Vikings had a year where everything fell into place for them. I see them taking a step or two back this year even if Favre does come back.

I know what you mean.
I have to admit though, on paper, their loaded. They run that west coast offense Favre loves, just let him throw slants every time, and Rice, Harvin and Berrian all can break a play open after the reception. Add on AP, and a defense that included Allen, Williams x2, Winfield, etc, and they look pretty good. I think they at worst go back to the playoffs as a WC, though I can definitely see GB winning the division this year.
