So apparently, the word is that the Charges are shopping Cromartie for a RB or a draft pick(s) (As per this from ESPN). This is intriguing to me... We have depth at RB as we stand right now, assuming we hold on to TJ. We don't, however, have much depth in our defensive backfield beyond Revis. I'm not saying that CB is our most pressing concern... but it's gotta be up there.
Obviously, they're not going to take TJ for Cromartie. TJ solves nothing for them, really-- they'd only be interested in Washington or Greene, the youngest or our RBs and our hopeful tandem of the future. Do you give one of these up for Cromartie?
The other idea is we could give up a draft pick for Cromartie. Our first rounder is late, though our second rounder is a fairly decent pick. Is Cromartie worth our second rounder? We could even give up our first-rounder if we felt as if a good edge-rusher or good nose tackle would be left on the board at our second pick.
I say, unless we bring TJ back cheap next year, we go with the draft picks rather than the RB... though some of you may feel like Cromartie isn't even worth it. I don't know much about his game, only that San Diego apparently views him as expendable due to the CBs already on the depth chart (which doesn't really seem like a sleight of his abilities).
