This is about Rex, Not BS

by JetsFanMurphy on Dec 7, 2010 7:40 AM EST reply actions

The fact that BS hasn't even seemed to be questioned at this point is a liability to Rex.

If Shotty can’t score on a mediocre to bad defense, Shotty needs to go. This team has no offensive identity and it is clear after 1 quarter of play what they are going to do. After the first 3 drive I knew this was going to be an offensive game like the Packers and Ravens game, no lie. They were just lifeless without an identity. Going away from what worked (Running the ball with Greene) and keep doing things that didn’t (Passing to stone hands, Braylon for short passes).

Well no, but acknowledging that there has been something said would be a start.

There doesn’t seem to be any accountability and what we’ve all seen is there been no change to our flawed game plan. I’m not saying coming out and trashing him totally in the media but acknowledge there is a problem there that is being worked on so we don’t come out as “so cocky we don’t think anything is wrong,” is a good idea.

If we could run at will....

We’d be doing it already. We are having trouble running the ball.

We want, but we can’t seem to get more than 2, 3 yards on 2nd down runs.

Are weak attempt at impersonating last years’ run team and last years’ defense are the reasons Sanchez is put in so many passing downs.

And if he’s not accurate, forget about it.

This game was over before it even begain

Once Leonhard went down, their was an obvious loss of fire in this team, and in the fans. They never got it back. If they they don’t get it back soon, the season is over.

Get busy winning or get busy losing.

Downplaying him

So many people thought he was just some no-name player we could get over….yeah didn’t happen

by JetsFanMurphy on Dec 7, 2010 8:21 AM EST up reply actions

Leonard was huge part of the defense

As you saw from Eric Smiths’ poor play.

Eric Smith played great last week, when he doesn’t have a leadership role and can stick to a TE or support in Pass Defense, but last night was obviously too much to handle.

That pass interference was the beginning of the end last night.

But seriously, I am tired of the blaming of Brian Shotty. Do I think he’s great? No, but he wasn’t the person giving Brady all day long to throw the ball, he wasn’t the person scared to catch the ball with his hands, he wasn’t the person throwing inaccurate throw after inaccurate throw. He wasn’t the person losing the battle of the trenched from both sides of the ball the entire game.

He wasn’t the person designing epic fail after epic fail blitzes the entire game.

Worst regular season loss I have ever seen from them. Been watching them since ’84.

2 games is all

I agree, lets put this …..what ever it was behind us. Our goal to get in the playoffs is to win 2 games,I would like to win 4 but 2 get us mathematically in.

Once in the tournament anything can happen, Game 3 Jets vs Pats is looming. Rex will not get beat down again

When people vote for this, they do realize it’s about the season as a whole and not one game, right? People are just ridiculous. Yeah the Jets got raped but they’re still one game off the best record in the NFL. Some people will never get it.

by revis_island on Dec 7, 2010 11:37 AM EST reply actions

Well said, I did vote Yes I am happy. Rex is doing a great Job, Christ were 9-3

Was anyone else appalled by the decision to have Folk try a 53 yard field goal? He has been crap over the past five weeks even in descent to good conditions. I knew he would miss (as did every other Jets fan) and give the Pats great field position for their 2nd series.

It boils down to Rex being too cocky about his defense. Don’t get me wrong, I love him as our coach and support most of what he does. But to assume we could stop the leagues top offense on a short field just after they marched down the field on their first drive is just arrogance taking over. Playing it smart with field position may have been the difference in that first quarter.

Then again, with Weatherford punting an impressive 24 yrd average I guess it really wouldn’t have made any difference.

45-3 is what happens when your team plays like shit in all three phases of the game and the opponent executes their game plan. So as much as I wanted to rant about that 53 yard attempt, it probably didn’t make any difference in the outcome.

As far as the Folk thing is concerned, I was listening to ESPN 1050 on the way home from class and Rex said that Folk was killing it in warmups and that’s why he had him kick there. He also said that if the kick hadn’t been that off people wouldn’t be second guessing it as much, and I think he’s probably right.

This poll is comical

win = +90% approval rating
loss = weeks 1, 8, and this week

by dulciusXasperis on Dec 7, 2010 11:57 AM EST reply actions

I voted yes.

And i obviously understand why people said no. They voted with emotion and not their brain. Or there might be a reason I can’t understand.

by tlrpsu on Dec 7, 2010 3:47 PM EST reply actions

I'm surprised by this result

Yes, it was a disgusting loss, but Rex has still done a good job with this team.

What's that about?

by Brian. on Dec 7, 2010 7:17 PM EST reply actions

Voted No and here's why...

I vote on how I felt the coaches coached for that particular week (not the overall season). I even voted yes on their losses to GB and Baltimore because I believe those losses came down to execution over coaching. This week was different. We were clearly outclassed in every facet of the game and it leads me to believe the coaches didn’t properly prepare for the game. So I voted No.
