Jim Leonhard Officially Out for the Season
Manish Mehta tweets the news:
#Jets have placed Jim Leonhard on IR. Surgery successful. Full recovering expected.
Now that Leonhard is on injured reserve, he will not be able to play for the rest of the year. The Jets now have an open roster spot to sign an extra player.
Tough break for Jim. It is good news that he will recover fully for the future, though.

If you can touch it, you can catch it.
I know a certain GGN member whose head might explode if that happened.

Who will be added to the active roster? Does this make room for McKnight or was he already going to be up? I’m confused about who’s up and who’s not with all the guys coming back from their injuries.

McKnight was up last week and made a play on specials so it would seem like he would be active anyway.

Yeah but wilson, coleman, and JCo were out, and they’re all back for this game. I’m hoping McKnight is up, its good for his confidence (especially if he blocks a punt or something), I don’t know where or how he fits in.

I'm not sure on the rules.
Can a player on IR come back for the playoffs?
Darrelle Revis once won a game of Connect Four in three moves.
i think
technically yes….if your injuries have healed…you can be waived and if no other teams claim him…he can be resigned back to the jets…ie Shaum Merriam
but i don’t think the Jets will risk that.

Well Jimmy is still the man
the fact that he even thought of coming back this year proves that he has great toughness.
Wish him the best!

We don’t need any more DBs, we have Joe McKnight to play corner! Hope Jim makes a quick recovery, he is a stud and it is a shame for him to get hurt at this point in the season.
Hopefully we get to see Tone on the punt returns. I know he wasn’t always the most consistent, but anytime we can get the ball in his hands, we should.
Get well, Jimmy

I still don't think the Patriots match up well against us
Honestly on either side of the ball, I just hope we don’t over think things. I see Holmes and Edwards dominating this game, Sanchez usually always plays well in these big games especially after a bad one, I think we are ready.
I do too, and agree esp. with what you said about Holmes + Edwards, both have very favorable matchups to exploit
I leaned New England throughout the last four weeks or so, but this week my mind has changed.
I may step outside my element, and pick the Jets to win in my preview…. something I’ve done every week this season, lol.

1 thing about Eric Smith yes he gets horrible penalty's at times I believe he has learned
But I read somewhere that he is one of the few guys in this league that wideouts always look out for when running a crossing route, I remember last game after Smith hit him Welker was not the same player running freely across the middle with no fear.
hard hitter
if you guys recall, a few years ago he almost KILLED Anquan Boldin, notoriously one of the toughest wideouts in football…
James Ihedigbo
I’d like to see another Jimmy get some more time out there with Leonhard out. Ihedigbo has made some plays this year and brings some fire to the field. Sometimes he doesn’t use his head-igbo, but he seems to be improving in that area. I’d be shocked to not see him in on a few blitzes monday.
this how i felt bout jim getting injured
why!?!?!?
