There is no denying Jim Leonard is a big loss. But indulge me in a game of who would you rather. In this case what starter on offense, defense or special teams would you prefer lost for the season to injury? Let's come up with a potential list. Who is the least valuable starter? Eventually, I'm coming around to the point that Leonard is a loss, but in the bigger picture, it could have been a lot worse. I'll start in reverse order of who I think we could NOT do without. Sanchez, Mangold, Brick, LT, Greene, Moore , Keller, and 2 of the 3 receivers are more valuable than Leonard. Weatherford, Brad Smith fromSpecial Teams are more valuable. On defense, POUHA, Ellis, DeVito, Pace, Harris, Scott and both corners are more valuable. So that leaves Poole , Woody,Bryan Thomas, Matt Slauson, and 1 of the 3 receivers as my candidates for most easily replacable. I love Hunter as Woodys replacement, but Woody is very good.Bthomas is also solid, but JT and maybe Westerman could fill almost as a slight downgrade.Similar to Woody and BT , Turner could fill for Slauson reasonably adequately. I think the talent level of our 3 receiver is so good, we could afford to lose 1, although I don't think that Holmes is replacable if you know what I mean.If you don't go 3 wide I guess Richardson would fall in the last group because Conner is almost his equal.I can confidently say Leonard is more valuable than Poole and Richardson. The next least/most valuable 4 are debatable. The loss is a loss in depth, and what self respecting Jet fan doesn't love Leonard, but my point is that a Superbowl Team should be able to endure the loss of it's let's say it's 19 or 20th best player(I know, Jenkins etc) and still contend. Time will tell.
