Mark Sanchez Has Sore Throwing Shoulder; Had MRI Earlier Today
Mark Sanchez may not have had the highest passer rating in Sunday's win over the Steelers, but he did a great job of making smart decisions with the football and effectively managing the game. Furthermore, he didn't turn the football over once, and completed 19 of 29 passes for 170 yards.
Oh, and he scored the Jets first offensive touchdown in three games on a naked bootleg which worked to perfection. Not too shabby.
If Sanchez can sit in the pocket and make accurate passes as he did in Sunday's game, the Jets will fare well in the near future.
Unfortunately, Sanchez injured his right (throwing) shoulder in the first quarter of yesterday's matchup in Pittsburgh while running the football. Thankfully, head coach Rex Ryan says he will be OK and is just sore, according to New York Daily News.
"[The MRI] was positive," Ryan said. "He'll play on Sunday, but he's sore.
So, QB Mark Sanchez has a sore shoulder, but will play next week Vs. Chicago Bears. Also worth nothing, CB Darrelle Revis and CB Antonio Cromartie were also sore and received treatment on Monday. No other details on that front as to the extent of the soreness.

I hate
positive/negative tests. Typically you want them to be negative so that they are positive. He words it oddly, haha.
Darrelle Revis once won a game of Connect Four in three moves.
When I read positive
I thought he was hurt. Damn you Rex!
Could have been a “you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone” game.

I don’t find any of this alarming. Pretty much every player in the NFL has something sore at this point of the season.

If we're at week 15 in the NFL
and our starting quarterback and top 2 CB’s are just “sore,” that’s something I would take 10 out of 10 seasons.
Hope the O line can protect him
After watching what Chicago did to Favre last night (hehehe), I QB protection is a pretty much a necessity to protect Sanchez. For his part, Sanchez can’t hold the ball too long either. Chicago’s LBs are beasts. Maybe we go with an extra tight ends or back to provideQB protection against the blitz. Our injury list is thankfully smaller than a lot of teams around the NFL and to make the playoffs and beyond, keeping the moving parts healthy is a necessity. And while we have a few players on IR, some of our players have more minor injuries and at this of the season, we might be ahead of the curve.
I shutter to think of Mark Brunnell taking the field at this point in the season.
