Could the press be any more fickle....
The media was writing epitaphs last week for us, and now they’re in love with us.
We’re basically the same team, so how about showing us a little less venom when we lose?
After reading the daggers the press was spewing, you’d think all the reporters were named Florio!
It's because we're the Jets...
And we’re not the only team that gets picked on. New England and Pittsburgh get more media reach-arounds than anyone else in the AFC. I mean, I get it, they’ve won championships… but last year’s performance means nothing this year.
If we beat the Bears this week it’ll do a lot to our media image because of the Bears’ record. (Although, if there’s a team in the NFL that’s a pretender, it’s Chicago. I’ve been sticking them with the Steelers and the Jets for large portion of the year.)

Chicago went into the week 5th in the league in DVOA ranking for overall defense (5th pass, 7th rush). A decent defense goes a long way keeping you in games. Where they are horrible is in offense (30th overall). But I’m not really sure who has been touting Chicago as a Super Bowl team though.
If we beat Chicago it will be a good win because it is a win on the road in probable bad weather, but it will be our record that the media would grab onto even more. Once you get up near 12 wins everything gets blown up.
same team
The Chicago game is going to be much the same type of team we just beat yesterday. Hard hitting, good run defense. Same conditions is going to make this interesting.
