Channing Crowder needs a history lesson

After the game, Crowder was so upset he mixed up his historical figures, complaining the officials who missed the spit had eyesight comparable to Stevie Wonder and Anne Frank. When reporters confused by the reference to Frank further queried Crowder, it became clear he meant Helen Keller instead.

"Is that the blind girl?" Crowder said. "Helen Keller? I don't know. ... I'm mad right now. I'm not as swift as I usually am." -SI.com

Got a good chuckle out of this as I figured most Jets fans would as well. I'm not a history major but c'mon man!

I'm not sure what is funnier

Crowder confusing Anne Frank with Hellen Keller, or referring to himself as “swift”.

But why is this important to Gang Green Nation??

I admit it was pretty dumb for Crowder to make that mistake, however when another man spits in your face and then runs away all logic and common sense goes out the window. You don’t see stories of Mark Sanchez body language fine or Braylon Edwards calling out Sanchez posted on ThePhinsides front page. Lol any way to gain hits I guess.

It’s my second post on GGN.. I apologize if it’s completely out of line, but I thought Jets fans might found the quote funny.. If you think I should take it down let me know, just trying to provide some laughs to the fans.

Oh no it was a funny quote I agree

He is clearly not the brightest but I can understand his anger and rage about being spit on. But congrats on becoming an editor here. Good Day GGG

Thanks

I appreciate the welcome. I’d be pissed if I was spit on as well, but this is just hilarious in my opinion. Gotta love post game interviews!

I would argue that Dolphins news is Jets news.

Totally agree. Especially when it pertains to a player who was involved in a verbal sparring match with our coach.

Chowder...

that guy is one of the biggest trouble makers in the league, he talks alot of crap and rarely backs any of it up, IMHO hes a below average LB and the only reason we know his name is because of his big mouth that keeps writing checks that his ass cant cash….i would be mad also if someone spit in my face, but how about a couple seasons ago when the Fins played the cowboys and Chowder yanked an O Lineman by his hair and then Facemask, then take off running away to the sidelines when the big fella got up to go kick his ass? lol

Thought of it right away

Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter, you will be facing a finality beyond your comprehension, and you will not be counting days, or months, or years, but milleniums in a place with no doors.

Here's a novel thought...

If youre a linebacker and a running back spits in your face, then tackle him… HARD. Don’t be a sissy and cry to the media. Man up and make a tackle. Cowarder only had 4 tackles on the day. Not exactly a tough guy now is he?

Whats even worse is that the “spitter” is actually a fullback, which gives Cowarder ample opportunity to knock his head off on every other play. Why is this guy crying to the reporters again?
