as a Jet fan it hurts to say but the Pats win was huge for them for the following reasons:
They now own a tiebreaker over the Ravens, Chargers, and Colts
With a win over the Jets on Monday night it is almost impossible for the Jets to win the division
If the Jets and Pats have the same record at the end of the season here are the tie-breaker senarios:
1)head-2head wins (Pats win on Mon night its even)
2)divisional record (pats win on Mon night its even.)
3) common opponents
Pats lost to the Jets and Cleveland
Jets lost to the Ravens, Packers and Pat (mon night)
Means the Pats have to lose to GB (who beat the Jets) the Bears, Miami, or Bills or Detroit on THanksgiving
If the Pats beat the Jets on Monday night but lose any other game while the Jets win out after the lose, the Jets win either on the 2nd tie-breaker if the Pats lose to Bills or Miami or the 3rd tie-breaker common opopnents becasue the Jets losses are Packers Pats and Ravens while the Pats losses are Jets, Clevelend and say Packers which is equal conference records so it goes to the 4th tie-breaker which is conference record
basically it starts to get crazy with strength of victory and such…
in a nut shell the Jets beat NE on that Mon nght game and the we have the division and a good chance at a bye
I agree with the Pats, but why the hell is the Jets win not there...
half of those games were meaningless, or not upsets.
