The JETS are playing good enough football right now, but there are three areas that concern me if we are going to go deep in the playoffs.
1. Red Zone Offense- I don't think we capitalize on all the opportunities that we get when are in the promise land. Its like the play calling goes from passing all over the place to HB dives up the middle, which makes us settle for field goals. I like Nick Folk and all, but I would rather have a touchdown than a field goal any day.
2. Not utilizing weapons - I am not sure why they have stopped going to Dustin Keller, but I don't like it. I understand that Santonio Holmes needs to get touches, but it seems like when he came in off of suspension they stopped throwing to Keller as much. When they targeted him he was making huge catches and teams couldn't defend it. I would think he would be more open now that we have two deep threats on the outside, so he should have one on one coverage with a safety. I just don't know too many safeties in this league that are as physical as he is.
3. The dink and dunk - I really hate the dink and dunk offense. I see the Patriots have adopted that philosophy, but at least they do it closer to the first down marker. I never understand throwing 3 yard passes. If you are going to do check downs, have LDT or whomever you are checking down to move closer to the line of scrimmage. I'm no coach, but if you pick up chunks of 15 to 20 yards on pass plays, defenses wont be able to stack the box which would open up the running game.
Like I said I am no coach and I am not complaining because we are still 8-2, I just want my team to play to the level I know they are capable of. What are your thoughts on this?
