Damien Woody Says He Has Sprained MCL
He didn't return and said after the game that he suffered a sprained right MCL, but would likely undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the exact extent of the injury.
Woody was also unsure if he'd be available for Thursday night's home game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
That would be worth a sigh of relief. It looked the injury had the potential to be pretty bad the way the knee was twisted. The recovery time varies but is usually a few weeks. Let's hope it's on the less serious side. Wayne Hunter had a tough matchup, but his play was less than spectacular. The Jets could sure use Woody out there. There is a game in Foxborough in 15 days.
The team may have dodged a major bullet.

Hunter and Slauson were terrible today
Couldn’t even handle 3-man rush.

wow good news, I feared the worst after trying to remain positive after jenks injury. I wonder why more O linemen don’t wear those knee braces with the medal brackets on them, isn’t the purpose of those braces for incidents like what happened to Woody today?
In an Ideal world I would have all ten fingers on my left hand so my right hand could just be a fist for punching./ Free Free
The way I saw Woody walking on the sidelines and joking around
I knew it wasn’t to to serious although strain still sucks, keep him out of thursdays game no matter what.
They shouldnt even consider playing him against the Bungles
Hunter was not very good but let Woody rest.
Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter, you will be facing a finality beyond your comprehension, and you will not be counting days, or months, or years, but milleniums in a place with no doors.
I say, only play him if it's an emergency. It's going to be all hands on deck for the Pats game
Get busy winning or get busy losing.

The Pats game is an emergency
It could decide whether we get a bye

I meant on Thursday if it's an emergency
Our defense needs to play better than we did today, or the Bengals will beat us. You never know what you are going to get from the Bengals D, and they might be looking for revenge fore last year’s back to back beat downs.
Get busy winning or get busy losing.

If the Jets cant find a way to beat the pathetic Bengals.
..than they are really pretenders. Dont give me that T.O. and Ocho junk either. Jets should be able to beat the Bengals with ease. They need to go back to ground and pound though. Control the clock, keep the defense off the field.
The Pats game scares me a bit. I think we are the better team but its going to be like a bye, and Rex has flat out stunk after byes. The Pats will have the same amount of time off, so there will be no excuses. Rex really needs to tighten up the weakest link of this football team…gulp….the defense.

The offensive game plan should always reflect
what the defense is giving us. If they are stacking the box with 8, then it doesn’t make sense to ground and pound given the receivers we have.

I agree but if he keep pounding the defense it will wear down
If all you do is keep throwing, our defense will be out there for longer stretches which will wear them down, not just for the game but the rest of the season and post season. Keep the D fresh by continuing to run the ball.

Sit him out vs the Bengals; they don't have a Mario Williams rushing from their D-line
And you may want to protect your young QB with some max protect sets.
Not so fast
This is what Woody tweeted last night: “To Jet Nation, thanks 4 all the luv! Ain’t nunthin that treatment & a lil TLC can’t handle…..see y’all Thursday night!”
Sounds like he’s thinking about playing Thursday. Personally I hope they rest him regardless.
i hope if he is playing its at a high level if not then rest big fella

VLAD
I agree with this idea—is Hunter really better than VLAD? I know that it takes time for an O-lineman to get up to speed in the league but Hunter was beyond terrible. Please dont tell me that Vlad would have been worse.
I think Hunter is only ahead because he knows the offense more. My feeling is the team was happy just having no penalties. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Vlad starting. That would also allow Hunter to come in as a tackle eligible.
and the HOLMES of the... JETS!!!
