Sports Nation Likes LT
ESPN's Sports Nation is taking notice of what is happening with LaDainian Tomlinson.
73 percent of 4,654 polled by ESPN2’s SportsNation today believe that LaDainian Tomlinson will continue to dominate this season over Terrell Owens, when veterans are concerned.
Tomlinson is coming off a 133-yard, two-touchdown rushing performance during Sunday’s Jets win over the Buffalo Bills, and SportsNation co-host Colin Cowherd couldn’t agree with fans more.
"I thought L.T. was done. I thought he was shot. I have no problem acknowledging that I whiffed completely," Cowherd said. "He’s averaging six yards per carry and I’m not saying he’s as good as six years ago, but he looks the part. The stiff arm, the power – he makes people miss."
That makes two of us. What Tomlinson is doing is incredible. I know that his offensive line wasn't good last year, but neither was LT. He was one of the worst in the league statistically at making guys miss and breaking tackles a year ago. He was tentative reading his holes also. I'm telling you. I watched him.
No question I would take Tominson over Owens also. One guy is depending on Carson Palmer. The other is depending on getting help from the Jets' offensive line.

Could it be LT was just unhappy there and stopped playing for the Bolts
I don’t see how you don’t play hard in the National Football League, but I can’t explain how LDT has been this good. I was one of many people on this site who welcome LaDainian Tomlinson over Thomas Jones, but only because TJ was a workhorse but not a great runner. I felt in my heart LDT was a upgrade over TJ. Again, everybody who watched the Jets knew TJ would average about 3 yards a carry and break one in the fourth quarter when the opposing defense would get tired. LDT is breaking long ones in the first quarter. Again, I truly believe the Jets upgraded at running back, but I’m pleasantly surprise on how good he’s been.
Props to Tanny for picking LT over Jones. He knew what he was doing. Now he just have to explain McKnight over Leon!
Buster Posey: Let's enjoy him before he goes to the Yankees.

Tom Jackson said the same thing lastnight
It seems to be the general concensus with him. We all thought he might have been done. Mabye we undervalued our O-line. Mabye the bolts are stupid. I dunno. But if we have the LT of 5 years ago…

On a more unrelated note. I hate ESPN
Every opinion is so mainstream. The only guy that pushes the envelope is Jim Rome and he’s the biggest D-bag on TV. Seriously his show needs to be canceled already. I had all but given up on the station as a hole untill Sports Nation came on. Cowherd is the man. If you get a chance to listen to him on his radio program you will be impressed. He’s brutally honest if not imperfectly biased. He has character. If it wasn’t for him and my little Couger sweetheart Hannah Storm I would swear off ESPN in all it’s forms.

sportsnation is awesome
by far the best show on ESPN. Cowherd is good, and Beadle is obviously beautiful and hilarious
a little too preachy for me
but hey everyone has different tastes right. I do listen to him every morning, but more because I am too lazy to change the channel lol
España 2010 Campenoes del Mundo!!!
I can see that.
He dosn’t allow for much deviation from his side of things. I think he is really biased with college football. Which makes it interesting. But the range of his knowledge really impresses me.
Take today for instance. ESPN has a huge chubby for Patrick Chung today. It’s all their talking about after his great game lastnight. You’d think Teddy Bruschi was reborn again. EVERY reporter is glowing about him and his supposed arrival to the NFL. Thats not Cowherd’s MO. Id bet anything they cover his performance on sportsnation and Colin still mentions that Chung and that defense still has a ways to go before being that good. He never really goes overboard with the NFL stuff like ESPN does as a whole. And like jayvb said above. Beadle is awsome. Great show to me.

Im lovin LD right now.
I think 2 factors have atributed to his early success:
1) Pre-season — for the first time in a long time he started the season in rhythm, which allows him to hit the hole on time and makes his second level reads much easier. He probably took a lot of unnecessary shots in other years because his timing was just a tad off.
2) Limited touches — right now he’s getting the glamor carries, while Shonn is being relegated to dirty work. Greene is put in to bang it up the middle and wear down the D a little bit, while LD gets the nice sweeps and tosses and counters. LD is running fresh and in optimal situations and he’s capitalizing.
A fresh start and a chip on his shoulder
8 years this guy was in San Diego. Same stadium. Same practice field. Uninspiring coaches. The fans gave up on him. His team to a percentage, gave up on him as well. Then he gets traded to a team with a players coach where he has already stated that coach makes him want to run through brick walls for the team. I saw him running angry in the Bills game. Focused. That feeling wont go away untill he has a ring to stick in the face of the Chargers organization. Gotts love the way this turned out.

People don't realize that players always play with injury's that go unreported
speaking about Palmer he doesn’t look the same after those knee surgery’s what happened to him
