Rex "We should be Favourites"

Not just for the Bengals game but the whole tournament culminating in a Superbowl title.
Ryan was asked what he thought about being considered a long shot going into the post season, he replied:
"I wasn't aware of that, but to me we should be favorites."
He was then asked to clarify this response, did he mean favourites this week or for the whole dance?
"I mean in the whole tournament ... I think we have the best defense. I know we do. I think we have the best rushing attack."
While I can see the logic, a favourite for the whole tournament won't have a pass attack that is one of the worst in the league. We run the ball well and we play defence, but if we get down big, it's going to be exceedingly hard to get back into the game. I don't think we should be considered too much of a long shot, but I also don't think we should be considered the favourites, although we have the talent on this team to beat any other team on any given day, consistency has been a problem.
Like Rex said earlier in the season, if he doesn't believe in his own guys, then who will?

Either works for me ;). I think Rex has a good point but have to side with you because of our lack of passing offense. It’s been strange this year in that we have this big time QB but no passing game. All in all I think Sanchez has shown us enough to be confident in how things will progress for the team in the coming seasons but I admit I only half expect them to go any deeper than 2 games this play off year. I think as Jets fans we should be damn happy with what we have done so far!

Relative to the other playoff contenders, we’re an incomplete team. I’d like our chances much better with Kris Jenkins and the Harris sitting thing has me shaking in my green boots.
I think Rex said that to fire up the team.
He’s trying to drum up the “us against the world” mantra. He wants his guys to feel disrespected and play with a chip on their shoulders while at the same time havaing that swag. Damn right we’re the team to beat. Bring it.
