Pro Bowl Game Thread

PrintIf anybody watching the Pro Bowl wants to leave thoughts on the game, this is the place.
The league has taken a beating this week from media types for moving it before the Super Bowl, but I think it was a good move. When it takes place after the Super Bowl, everybody has moved on from football. This weekend people might be looking for a fix.
All of the problems with the game (guys not wanting to play, a lack of intensity, etc.) were also there back when the game was in Hawaii after the Super Bowl. I'm not saying this game is going to be terribly exciting, but I do think this was a good decision.

I don’t think there’s any way to truly salvage the game. All-Star games by their nature are relaxed. In football, that robs the game of key elements like aggression and fierce competition.

They need to spice it up a bit more, although a physical game like football can’t be played at half speed. Should do some skills competitions, at least they would be worth watching. Didn’t watch a single play from last nights game.

I thought Mike Francessa had a good idea.
Instead of a game, since nobody wants to play, have a kind of award dinner the week before the superbowl. Give out offensive player, defensive player, MVP awards, all that stuff, you can make it into a little show, a mini espy’s type of thing. Have players presenting awards and cracking jokes on each other, televise it on ESPN. I think that is a much better idea, I for one would certainly enjoy it a lot more then the Pro Bowl.

Also like the skills idea.

since we swept you this year, and you made the playoffs, and got your butts handed to you by the Colts, does this mean that we are really the 2nd best team in the AFC???
Well since you won the lottery back in week 16 against the Colts resting their starters...
i beg to differ. When you lost to the Colts last week, you did more than just waste 3 hours of everybodies time in watching that game, you also confirmed everyones thoughts that you walked into the playoffs, then lucked out in the playing the Bengals, who were the weakest team in the whole playoffs, then managed to catch the Chargers on a day when they couldnt make a kick? You did not just beat the Bolts, you lucked out in their kicker missing 2 makeable balls, and 3 altogether.

Don’t let them get to you. If they talk like that, it says a lot more about them. It’s very easy to be a tough guy when you’re hiding behind a computer monitor.
I think it’s a testament to this site that we really don’t see talk like that.
