New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts Game Thread

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts, Jan 24, 2010 3:00 PM EST

The Jets are back in the AFC Championship Game for the first time in eleven years. Let that sink in. Think of everything this franchise has been through since that bitter windy day in Colorado. Today this team can go to the Super Bowl for the first time in over four decades. The task is beating a 15-2 team in its building. That team also has Peyton Manning, the Darrelle Revis of quarterbacks. We want to party like it's 1969.

Leave thoughts below.

This dude is pathetic, suicide really?? have some class man, if you don’t know what that is, look it up. Starting to understand why people dislike the Colts, at first I thought it was because they were successful, but their fans are starting to change that view.

Great moments… are born from great opportunity. And that’s what you have here, tonight, boys. That’s what you’ve earned here tonight. One game. If we played ‘em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we hit with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Tonight, WE are the greatest football team in the world. You were born to be football players. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It’s over. I’m sick and tired of hearing about what a great football team the Colts have. Screw ’em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it." J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!

You find out life’s this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game – life or football – the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don’t quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don’t quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that’s gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I’ll tell you this, in any fight it’s the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I’m gonna have any life anymore it’s because I’m still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that’s what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can’t make you do it. You’ve got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That’s a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That’s football guys, that’s all it is. Now, what are you gonna do?

The Jets are pissing Manning off. Manning doesn’t play well when he’s shaken up. Denver got 3 INT’s on him this year when he was rattled. All the Jets have to do is keep applying pressure to him and the game is won.

agree – good play by the defense

He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

They are doing to Manning what they did to Brady, putting pressure on him and he dosnt like it, makes more mistakes and incomplete passes.

Good luck from Beijing

Cowboys fan here…
I had to wake up at 3:45 in the morning to watch this game (and pay $30 to the NFL as well)
Hope you guys can pull this one out. Colts (and their fans) are too annoying to go for.
Plus I’m a huge Mizzou fan and love seeing Brad Smith in action again.

D is tired, they need offense to give them a long rest

by GrendelKen on Jan 24, 2010 5:38 PM EST reply actions

don’t shoot me for trolling because i’m not trying to come off that way,and I am backing the Jets but I don’t see a way they can stay in this game. They’re tired and pretty boy peyton is in their head too much. If the game was only the first half, you’d have it made, but they just cant keep up with the colts for the long stretch

by New Found Missouri on Jan 24, 2010 5:44 PM EST reply actions

Turning point: Greene getting hurt. Offense doesnt make the series long enough to give the Defense rest. Defense gets tired. :( great game though
