Kerry Rhodes Sustains Minor Knee Injury in Practice
Not as strong as the infamous "Clippers Curse".......... BUT.....
We have all said Kerry has been at his best when he's not Mr. Media. This is proof.
Last night, he appeared on Jimmy Fallon's late-night talk show.
Less than 24 hours later, resulting from an injury he sustained in practice today, his knee is wrapped-up and he has been icing it.
At the moment, we know llittle about the injury, but Rex didn't seem too concerned about it. Although he was limping on the knee and currently has both ice and an electro-stimulation device on it.
Let's hope its minor, we need him on Dallas Clark this weekend --- a task Eric Smith is certainly not up for.

Ahh you are correct. Was watching them both too — I’m clearly retarded.

I hate seeing injuries like this before big games...Indy CB Powers missed his 2nd straight day of pactice today too w/ a foot injury...
…I want the teams to be both at full strength for the showdown on Sunday.

Correct...
He’s been limited in practice with a back contusion, but all signs point to him being ready to suit up on Sunday.
And Dallas Clark missed practice yesterday with an illness, but was back today as a full participant to wrap up the notables on the Colts injury report.

How is that proof at all?
He went on Jimmy Fallon which caused him to be injured? I think he has been more focuse on football lately, but I wouldn’t say he got injured because he went on Fallons show. Plenty of Jets go on shows. Thank God its minor otherwise Clark would run wild on us.
lol, theres no proof… and its not a scientific theory, just something im touching on, bro.
kerry rhodes played the best football of his career in 06 when he stayed out of the limelight, FACT.
this season, when he became mr media early on, his play clearly suffered after week 3 and was downhill for two months until Rex gave him the wake-up call after the New England game. since then, he’s been on a tear and playing excellent.
theres no rhyme or reason to it… im just saying its a weird coincidence. obviously they do interviews w/ the media all the time, but last night was a TV appearance.

agreed
This is just being a bit silly. There were very legitimate concerns at points in the season that Kerry’s “hollywood” persona was negatively affecting his on field play. There is obviously no link between Kerry being on Fallon and hurting his knee. He didnt slip on grease throwing weiner’s in Rex’s mouth in “hot dog in a hole”, He didnt get taken out on a cheap low block by Quest Love on his way from the green room. Making this kind of ridiculous connection, even in jest, discredits the legitimate concern over his previous selfish actions.
Even a minor injury is worrisome so close to game-day.
This is the one game I do not want to see Smith in coverage. Hopefully he can get a cortizone shot and be at least near 100%.
Seriously. He was embarrassed last week. Clark will man-handle him everywhere, especially in the red-zone.

Smith or Rhodes?
I don’t think we have an answer for Clark either way really. We have to get pressure to Manning or Clark is going to have a big day either way. We can bracket him on some possessions but I don’t think we can do it all game; sooner or later they will find a way to iso him on somebody and if Peyton has time…
Shutting down Colts receivers
The real reason the Colts receivers aren’t shut down is that Manning can make good receivers great. On most other teams Dallas Clark is a good all around blocking/catching tight end. But in Peyton’s offensive scheme he has become invaluable. The same with Wayne and the other wide-outs. The few teams that have had success against the Manning Colts have had a combination of clock management, no turnovers, a front line throwing Manning off his rhythm and a changeable secondary scheme. A little bit of luck helps as well.
Hopefully everyone will be healthy enough to play the entire game on Sunday. This time of year many of the players are hurting and the post makes it clear that at this point Smith will be toast.
