Way too many home-team sweeps

for so-called experts. Home/Bye teams are 7-9 the last 4 years. That could of course bode ill for San Diego.

I’m a Charger fan and predict an SD win, but somewhere between the predictions of Vic Salazar (who picks a 31-28 score, which is too high) and the last guy, who picks a 23-17 game. Like Salazar, though, I think it may come down to a 4th quarter Kaeding FG, which he blew the last time we hosted you guys in the playoffs, but won’t this time, if he has to come through (IMHO)….

MOST of those guys rightfully give the Jets their due, and I agree with you, Togaman, picking against the home team just isn’t the way to win over your fan base, so they’d really have to have no confidence to NOT pick the Chargers…. In the face of a tough opponent, I’m trying to stay optimistic myself. I/we have reason to be optimistic, but it’d better only be “cautiously” so, because you really do have a decent chance of winning.

Last week I picked the home teams to go 2-2, and I myself went 2-2. It’ll probably be the same this week: I’m going with the Saints, Chargers, Cowboys, and Ravens, the last two being the ones I successfully picked last week. [Sorry, I thought the Bengals would give you a better game and squeak it out; it’s not that I underestimated you — it’s that I OVER-estimated THEM…. (Of course some of their bad play had something to do with your good play.)]

Anyway, it should be a bunch of great games this weekend, including the Jets-Chargers one, and may the best teams win!

[That’s kind of obvious that once there’s a victor, the best team (at least that day) did indeed win, so I guess I’m just saying that let’s not have any of these games decided by some b.s. official call(s)…. With replay, at least there’s less of a chance of that happening.]

Never thought he’d choke this year, that’s for sure. At least I said, “IMHO.” ;)

And to my credit I wasn’t making any kind of brash prediction. Didn’t here or on the BFTB site, where I think I picked the Chargers by about the same amount the Jets won by.

Also, even though the home teams went 3-1 last week and the only team I picked to win that did was the Saints, my “subject heading” and the first line took into account that we might have gone down…. It’ll be interesting (of course) to see what happens to the home teams this week…. Anything could…. Odds would be that both visiting teams don’t win, but you never know…. Whatever happens, Congratulations on getting as far as you have.
