Pleasant Surprises for Sunday v. Chargers
First, Donald Strickland practiced today. Looks like he'll play Sunday. Having another DB ready to play will be helpful going against a top notch passing offense.
Second, WhatIfSports.com (as cited by Foxsports http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings?powerRankingsType=predictions) predicts the Jets will beat the Chargers 24-19, they quantify their confidence at 70.3%! (they also list the Ravens as winning 23-22 with a 58.2% confidence, which would mean a home game the following week for the Jets!)
I don't want to get carried away with WhatIfSports - although they did correctly pick the Jets last week - since pretty much everyone else has the Chargers as heavy favorites. AccuScore which ESPN cites http://accuscore.com/latest-news/ has projected the Chargers as 69%-31% favorites. And the Colts as 56-43 favorites over the Ravens.
Nonetheless, encouraging that we're not the only ones who think we have a chance.

guess so...
Team WC Win % DIV Win % CC Win % SB Win %
New York Jets 68.0% 43.8% 29.0% 15.9%
New Orleans Saints - 59.5% 27.6% 14.6%
Minnesota Vikings - 50.3% 27.1% 14.0%
Dallas Cowboys 63.0% 36.3% 24.4% 13.7%
Baltimore Ravens 59.1% 36.3% 18.1% 9.7%
San Diego Chargers - 43.5% 19.0% 7.0%
Indianapolis Colts - 39.0% 17.0% 6.6%
Philadelphia Eagles 37.0% 19.1% 9.4% 6.2%
Green Bay Packers 65.2% 26.6% 10.0% 4.2%
New England Patriots 40.9% 20.9% 8.7% 3.8%
Cincinnati Bengals 32.0% 16.7% 8.3% 3.7%
Arizona Cardinals 34.8% 8.2% 1.6% 0.6%
they are saying the Jets have the best chance of any team, although 15.9% isn’t exactly a lock.
These would be more impressive
if there was some history on how WhatIfSports and AccuScore’s predictions have worked out in the past. I mean if they run at 10%, it’s as good as me saying it. But if they’re right 75% of the time…
Good point Frank, would be interested to see who they picked to win the Patriots/Ravens game
