Rex Says He Has Faith in Braylon

Despite a bad drop in the end zone Saturday,Rex Ryan asserted his confidence in Braylon Edwards to the press.

"Braylon, one of these days, is going to have an explosion where he has a three-touchdown game," Ryan said. "I think that's coming right around the corner."

Asked about Edwards' propensity to make the tough catch but drop the easier ones, Ryan said: "The hard thing is to get your guy beat, the run route. Now do the easy thing, make the layup. I don't know if it's a mental thing right now, but we've got to get it right.

"I'm expecting him to have a huge game. I really think he's going to have one of those bust-out games. I hope it's sooner than later."

I'd be lying if I said my faith in Edwards was overwhelming at this point. Rex still does make a compelling case. With a guy that talented, it's a matter of when, not if he will go off. Jerricho Cotchery has become Mark Sanchez's favorite target. Opposing schemes may aim to take him away, which will give Edwards a chance to step up.

For what it's worth, Braylon seems to love being a Jet. I imagine he wants to step up in a big way this month, particularly with free agency looming. Not giving him an extension after the trade may pay dividends.

Braylon.

I wrote a fan post earlier in the season talking about re-signing Braylon Edwards in the offseason, stating the case he would cost alot of money. I really want this guy to break out, but he just keeps dropping points. It seem every week Mark goes long to him and he drops it, or miss times the jump. Although his short yardage catching is great. I am afraid of letting him go and goes off again, but to me its what have you done for me lately. Especially during free agency. Maybe its because Braylon still draws alot of attention, but to me Cotchery is much more reliable and i think can be our number 1. I say let him go unless the price is really right.

I like Braylon for one more year.

Give him and Mark an off-season and pre-season to work together. He was dropping balls before he got here, and did the same while here. But we still made the playoffs despite the drop and our QB being in his infancy.

All bets off after next season though. Or unless Dez Bryant falls in our lap in the draft.

Isn’t there a better time to do that than the week preparing for the biggest game in around 5 years.

I like Braylon he does a lot for this team with his speed and blocking ability, but the one thing I look for in my wide receivers is can they catch the ball and be trusted to bring it in in a big spot. Right now he isn’t but like Rex said, he has all the talent in the world, he is due a big game, let’s hope it comes this weekend.

A yo,I like Braylon,cause he be smashing motherfucker’s on the run block, but he need’s to get his hand’s back full time cause Sancheze is developing , we need all hand’s on deck sunday to pull this off! >> LETS GO J-E-T-S JETS
