The Madden Most Valuable Protectors Award will recognize and celebrate the backbone of every great NFL team…the offensive line.

Fans now have the opportunity to cast their vote for the NFL's best offensive line. The award will be presented for the first time during the week of Super Bowl XLIV, which will be played on February 7, 2010 in South Florida.

John Madden and the Award's Purple Ribbon Panel have narrowed the list to five (5) finalists: the Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans.

The New York Jets have the best rushing offense in the league, despite the fact that we lost our big-play running back Leon Washington for the season.  They have allowed rookie RB Shonn Greene to be productive, and they have the tough task of protecting first-year pro Mark Sanchez.

Four out of the five linemen were first-round draft picks.  Three of them will be going to the Pro Bowl this year.
