In his postgame press conference yesterday, Mark told us what he thinks of his former coach's decision to go pro.

Pete Carroll

What a douche you are Pete. You were mediocre as a coach with the Jets (8-8), so what makes you think you’re any better now? College success means squat in the NFL. My advice is for you to stay nice and snug back there at USC and shut your face about the the big league.

He's got the NCAA breathing down his neck now...

he knows he is going to get busted, so he decided to jump back to the NFL…

he also has that unsubstantiated story about him living with a female graduate student although he’s still married. He needs to go pro now before the shit really hits the fan.

No Edgar, it's not your fault, it's the fault of the idiot that plays you

Not even. He was 6-10.

His overall pro record however

Is above .500, which is pretty good considering some college coaches and how much they blow at coaching at the pro level.

It’s not that great. He inherited a Pats team that went to the Super Bowl and got progressively worse each year he had them.

What Carroll said was flat out wrong anyway. What if Sanchez suffers a career ending injury the next year at USC? Is Pete Carroll going to reimburse the 50 million that he wound up getting from the Jets? I don’t really follow college football, but I heard a couple of QB’s who chose to stay suffered serious injuries this past year, and although both are expected to make full recoveries, it might cause them to slide further down in the draft and cost them several million dollars. If they had to do it over again, they might wish they did what Sanchez did.

The only reason Pete Carroll said what he said is because Mark gave them the best chance to win, and losing so many defensive stud, improving on offence was a must, unfortunately they had to play Barkley and everything seemed OK at first it soon became obvious they were not even close to National contention. Sanchez with a smile on his face, enjoying his football, and 3rd game in a row without any turnovers. Yes please.

Anybody catch Mark Sanchez yelling “Goddamnit!” when the coaches called a timeout from the sidelines? That was awesome. It shows how confident the kid is, and Rex said he was telling them they didn’t need to call timeout cos he knew the coverage.
