The Jets have been rumored to be looking for a veteran pressence to backup Mark Sanchez.
QB Jeff Garcia was recently cut by the Raiders. The Jets might be looking into signing him as a backup, making Kellen Clemens a viable trade option. Garcia would most likely not see any playing time if the Jets were to sign him, but veteran know-how would be important to Sanchez's growth, especially since it's his rookie season. Garcia knows winning and that could be a key factor in helping Sanchez and the rest of the offense.
Clemens could be used as trade bait for a team that could use a QB, but has some WRs to trade or just even trade Clemens for draft picks. Signing Garcia could be a possibility, so look out for Jets' transactions over the next week or so.
