Marquice Cole Waived

The Jets have waived Marquice Cole to make space for the unsuspended Shaun Ellis.

Looks like CB Marquice Cole is the odd man out.

The Jets have waived Cole. He originally signed with the Jets Feb. 19 and made it through both rounds of cuts at the end of the preseason, eventually landing on the roster. But he was inactive for yesterday's game in Houston

 

Tough break, but it was a numbers game. The Jets are deep at corner, and Cole isn't a difference maker on special teams. He was a long shot to make the opening day roster and defied the odds. It was a great story. Considering the job he did in coverage in preseason and his sub 4.2 40 speed, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jets try and get him onto the practice squad.
