Stuckey Apparently Wins Starting Job
Rex Ryan hinted that Chansi Stuckey is his starter opposite Jerricho Cotchery.
Chansi Stuckey appears to have locked up the team's No. 2 wide reciever spot opposite Jerricho Cotchery after his 4-catch, 69-yard performance against the Giants last week.
"I think it's still a position that's still by committee," Ryan said. "But I think he's the guy you throw out there first."
I know a lot of people say Stuckey is the perfect slot guy, but this won't prevent him from lining up there in three receiver sets. It just means he'll also play across from Cotchery in two wideout formations.
I still hope we see plenty of David Clowney on the field. It's been a while since the Jets had a guy who can stretch the field. It's not entirely clear how complete of a receiver David is. How refined is he as a route runner? It doesn't matter a ton. Just send him deep all the time to keep the safeties back and open room underneath for Cotchery and Dustin Keller.

Clowney reminds me a lot of a younger, less experienced Santana Moss
But Stuckeys the better fit for this offense, as he has the more reliable hands and is by far the better route runner
"When we won the league championship, all the married guys on the club had to thank their wives for putting up with all the stress and strain all season. I had to thank all the single broads in New York"

Sizes matters?
I agree, except that Clowney has 2 inches over Moss, which was always a knock on Santana. At 6’0, Clowney has the potential to be a more versatile player, in my opinion, than 5’10 Moss.
Britt Davis at 6’3" and Marcus Henry at 6’4" are the tallest WRs on the team. Interestingly enough, the Jets don’t have any WR under 6’0" on the team this year (ala Santana Moss, Wayne Chrebet).
Another note is that and the Jets do not have a RB over 6’0 (TJ 5’10, Leon 5’8, Shonn Green 5’11, Woodhead 5’7 – compared to Giants Brandon Jacobs at 6’4", Saints Reggie Bush at 6’0, Lions Kevin Smith 6’1, Cowboys Marion Barber 6’0, Cardinals Chris Beanie Wells 6’1), which while somewhat uncommon in the NFL, is certainly not unheard of. The only person listed as 6’0" is Caulcrick, who I thought lined up as a FB. The other 2 FBs are both over 6’0.

Its good to see Stuckey get a chansi. I remeber watching a game when he was at Clemson and he really stood out to me. Nice to see him wind up with the Jets as a great late round pick and steadily develop through his first few years in the league. I agree that we’ll probably be seeing plenty of the clown as well in different packages, and that Stuckey can still utilize his skills in the slot in certain situations. Put him in motion, from end in a specific set and boom he’s right back in the slot, kind of like how Chrebet used to be utilized as a starting end.
