Sanchez Betters Clemens Again

Mark Sanchez again played better than Kellen Clemens at practice today.

Sanchez, who had some accuracy problems early on (missing 2 of his first 6 passes), finished strong. He finished 7-of-14 in 11-on-11 drills, but that was accentuated by two TD strikes to WR Brad Smith in the red zone, the second of which was zinged into a tight spot with some mustard.

Clemens finished 4-of-7, respectable numbers, but he threw two INTs, one of which came at the goal line in a red zone drill by CB Drew Coleman. It was, in fairness, an end-game, fourth-down situation so Clemens had to throw it.

I'd say this competition is pretty much over at this point.

So at this point what do the Jets do with Clemmens? He couldn’t beat a rookie QB while he’s been in the same pro system for his whole career.

Probably keep him around for this season and groom Ainge to become the backup in 2010.

A yo" it’s preseason let’s not count Clemens out yet ,lets see what happens monday night, can Sanchez handel the killer bird’s D.F? and can Big Rex call the play’s to beat his D.F of his past? OVER AND OUT BOMBERJET!!!
