Preseason Opener: St. Louis Rams at New York Jets Game Thread
St. Louis Rams at New York Jets, Aug 14, 2009 7:00 PM EDT
The next step to getting a real game.
We can look forward to:
- Mark Sanchez's first game appearance in green and white
- Seeing whether Vernon Gholston can make an impact
- Figuring out who starts next to Jerricho Cotchery
- The untold battle for the third quarterback spot between Erik Ainge and Chris Pizzotti, perhaps to become Sanchez's long term backup
- Seeing how much depth is really on the line with three starters out
Leave your in game thoughts in the comments section.

I know it’s only the first drive in the first quarter of the first preseason game, but that was comically fitting for Jets fans. At least the defense looked solid on the following series.

Sanchez is looking great!
As are Pace and Harris.
Still waiting on Gholston to show up.
2009 Dallas Cowboys: 10-6
CAN WE PLEASE FIELD A PUNT CLEANLY
FOR THE LOVE OF ZUG. WHAT WAS GOING ON TONIGHT.
I was actually pretty impressed with Wallace Wright and Clowney. And really, all 3 of our quarterbacks looked pretty decent. Ainge was 10-17, but when he missed, he MISSED. Anyone else see that screen he tried to throw that landed about 2 yards short of the feet of the RB?

Yes. That was pretty despicable. And I agree, Wright and Clowney looked pretty solid. Ainge was trying to work with Wright a lot and missed him on a few attempts. Like Grady90 above, I was stoked with Sanchez’s first play from scrimmage. Preseason or not, I clapped and cheered like regular season on that one. The defense looked pretty strong too.
