Cimini: Jets Tried to Trade for Harvin
Rich Cimini says the Jets tried to trade with Cleveland again in the first round to land Percy Harvin.
According to a mole, the Jets tried to trade back into the first round for Florida WR Percy Harvin. They called the Browns, who, after about a dozen trade downs (or so it seemed), were in the 22 spot at the time. Without a second round pick (that already belonged to the Browns from the Mark Sanchez trade), the Jets didn't have enough ammo to get it done. It's possible the Browns were asking for a 2010 first rounder. The Jets didn't pull the trigger.
It sounds like the Jets took a shot they could fleece their former coach. They had to know the odds were slim of this working.

Good
Our next years first rounder is to much unless we were to get a guy like Crabtree
Plus, with guys like Williams, Coffman, Iglesias and many more talented Receivers along with Tight Ends, overpaying for Harvin wouldnt have been our best bet
