-Some say the Jets may look defense in the Draft.

-Some say the Jets may trade up for Mark Sanchez.

-Some say the price is too big for Sanchez.

-Some say the Jets may make a play for Anquan Boldin.

-Some say Brandon Pettigrew could be the pick.

-Vernon Gholston changed his number from 56 to 50, formerly Eric Barton's, the number he wore at Ohio State. This was a good move by Vernon. He needs a fresh start in every way imaginable.

-Yahoo's Shutdown Corner blog doesn't get why I took Knowshon Moreno in the mock draft. People seem to forget the Draft isn't about filling needs for one year. It is about adding the best players to form a foundation for long-term success.

-A new mock draft from a blog.

What to do on Saturday

NO to drafting defense on Saturday.
NO to trading up for Mark Sanchez.
NO to selecting Brandon Pettigrew.

YES to making an offer for Anquan Boldin.
NO to offering a 1st and 3rd round pick for him.

Arizona holds no cards in this affair. Boldin wants
out, Arizona is currently $1.7M under the cap, they
can’t afford to extend Boldin a new deal. NE sent
the Raiders a 2nd round pick in exchange for Moss,
the market for Braylon Edwards is said to be a 2nd
and 4th or 5th round pick.

I’d offer Arizona a 1st round pick in the 2010 draft or
maybe Thomas Jones and a 2nd round pick. If the
Cardinals took the Jones package the Jets could
draft a RB with their 1st round pick to draft Moreno.

No big trades to move up in the 1st round, moving
up a couple of spots to guarantee getting the guy
you have targeted is always acceptable. Let’s just
hope it’s not for a QB or a TE.
