Thank You
Brett Favre's stay with the Jets will likely be remembered only as a footnote in his career like Joe Motana's stint in Kansas City. It certainly did not end well. However, number 4 provided lasting memories in his fleeting time in New York. From his miracle toss to Chansi Stuckey on Opening Day to his six touchdown game against the eventual NFC Champions to his magical Thursday night in Foxborough, Favre had some incredible performances. Let us remember these instead of the bitter end.
If nothing else, Brett deserves praise for making such a quick decision. His $13 million salary was going to be a major factor in the team's offseason plans one way or the other, He could have left the Jets up in the air. Now Gang Green will enter free agency with a clear understanding of its cap space and quarterback situation.

Psht…not quick enough, in my opinion. I’m not a hater, I just didn’t like his earlier quotes about how much he likes sitting at home, right after the season ended and reporters started asking questions. Hopefully the gears have been turning and we’re going to have a worthy quarterback next season.
I really hope I don’t see any #4 jerseys next season. Anyone who bought one should hang it up in the closet for good . . or burn it . . Favre was never a Jet.
Sorry, really not mad at Brett . . it’s more the hype surrounding him at the outset, which was inevitable. However, I knew if he didn’t do at least two years, I was going to feel like this. He did a lot of good for us last season, but it wasn’t enough at the end. That’s how I’m gonna remember this, unfortunately.
What do you see as a solution?
Are you going to let Kellen Clemens take the reigns or a FA QB like Garcia?
Cassell?
What do you think will end up happening?
Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider
It's a long offseason
So we’ll have plenty of time to go into it. Most likely, I see an open competition between the three young guys, Clemens, Ainge, and Ratliff along with a veteran, maybe Byron Leftwich.

I don’t think they’d go Garcia. It’s tough to see them going back to the rental quarterback in his late 30’s well. Plus a new regime usually likes to find it’s own longterm solution at QB.
I don’t think New England would ever let Cassel get to the Jets, but I’m not necessarily upset with that. I think he was a product of the talent and coaching surrounding him more than anything. I’ll elaborate in the near future.
