Braylon Edwards Guarantees Victory
Chad Ochocinco isn't the only receiver in this game laying down smack talk. Braylon Edwards promised a win to the media yesterday.
"We won’t lose this game," Edwards boldly declared, standing in front of his locker.
"We want it too bad. I don’t think we can lose this game knowing the way our mindset is. Guys aren’t talking about New Year’s Eve. Guys aren’t talking about family. All guys are talking about is the playoffs. All guys are talking about is beating Cincinnati.
"Were all dialed in. We’re all focused on this week. We know all we have to do is win and we’re in. Guys are very, very serious and are approaching this as a Super Bowl."
Given all the talking the Jets have done since training camp, I can't think of a more fitting way of dealing with the media to end the regular season. I understand why it has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way this year. It doesn't really make a huge difference to me. I know I got on Chad Ochocinco for calling out Darrelle Revis earlier this week, but that was mainly because I thought it was dumb to call out a guy playing that well this year. If he backs it up and has a big game against Revis, good for him.
We've seen quiet Jets teams in the past. They haven't won anything. Maybe things will be different now with a different approach. And let's be honest. This is pretty tame stuff. It's more a declaration of confidence in his teammates than it is disrespectful of the Bengals.

These guys are in no position to guaranty anything, especially the offense...
Just shut your yap and play. Hey Braylon, how about a guaranty that you’ll catch every ball that his your hands (or face-mask as you streak wide open for an easy TD). Just let your play do the talking.
100% agree
I don’t like it when anyone makes these comments, but I’ll accept it when its from a dominant player. Braylon hasn’t shown he’s that guy.

Id rather they go in expecting to win than go in expecting to lose like Jets fans are used to. No problem with this at all, he was asked if we were going to win this weekend, and he said yes. No problem with that.

Agree with both Crack and JetsFan
Until he stops dropping balls, he’s in no position to talk.
And remember when all the Jets went twitter-crazy in Sept/Oct. talking Sh*t? Yeah, it didn’t bode well for us. No matter what the reason was, that was the time period which was marked by us blowing games late in the 4Q. Something we want to put behind us.
Let’s get this win first. Then you can talk a little.

Everyone drops balls and to be honest.
he hasn’t dropped that many balls. His stats are a reflection of Sanchez. For example, compare cotchery’s stats with Favre to Sanchez and it isn’t close. I still think Braylon is a very good wr.
Braylon is a very good wide receiver, and he has dropped a couple but your right it happens to everyone. I will say that not many wide receivers in the NFL get out and block like he does, can’t even stress how much of an asset he is in the run game.

He can talk
but he better not drop a pass Sunday night. Not one. Not even in warm-ups.
Don't like smack talk in general
And we went overboard on it during the season, and look what we got for it: 4-6. Hubris brings nemesis – talk thyself up and thou shalt be smacked down.
Except for the guaranteeing victory part I’m fine with the rest of his comments, they’re not disrespectful or rude or anything. Victory can never be guaranteed – just ask the Saints and Steelers.
